Despite all the "guides" online, I've never been able to connect a wired desktop computer to a TV / display that supports wireless display technology. I solve this by placing an oversized Micro Fiber cloth between my laptop screen and keyboard when I'm transporting it in something that might overly squish it together. Helps avoid things sticking to the screen and doubles as way to always carry a Micro Fiber cloth.
