with all the Madison stuff coming out now this looks so bad, that 69 joke from Luke too. Fucking hell... 

 

My point is that it's a bit tone deaf to publish this sort of video at all, with all the jokes and lttstore plugs, when less than 5 hours ago your ex-employee publishes a list of not very funny accusations

They were THIS CLOSE to making a decent apology, but even looking past the unnecessary and unfunny jokes (guys, this is THE ONE TIME you need to be serious), they also had to keep advertising for the store and their products, in a paywalled video, announcing more paywalled videos about transparency, and even saying "I don't agree with every criticism with my team"
 
Sure, the thread by Madison is too recent to end up in the video, but are we gonna see them address this in this same fashion, which means in a video and not in a post that won't be noticed by everyone? My hopes aren't too high

This is clearly the video that should have been the first response to the GN video, overall, i think its fine and pointing in the right direction (It should not have been a floatplane exlusive for nearly an hour however, that just weird). Obviously i don’t think they should addressee the Madison allegations in the same video (let alone they wouldn’t have had time since the allegations only came out a few hours ago). I do expect some form of serious statement about the Madison allegations soon though.

Well, I have watched the video fully and I appreciate the effort that went into making a decision, getting everyone together, and cutting a video to address the issues at hand. It seems like rightfully, LMG is taking a step back and re-evaluating the situation. Taking time away from tossing out any video on the schedule regardless of the state of it, and figuring out how to balance doing things right, and doing them fast.
 
With that said, my FP and YT subscriptions will not be returning. I had been considering unsubscribing from YT ever since you launched 24/7 Linus TV as it meant I never saw when a new video was released (my only reason for using YT at all), and with the way Linus responded to the community outcry, it just pushed it over the edge. The 24/7 livestream on the main channel remains active, and as a result I will not be subscribing to the channel again.
 
As for FP, I know my $3/month means almost nothing in the FP sea of cash flow, but it is my only means of support and as this is the immediate reactionary period, I can't say the thing that made me cancel the subscription has really been addressed. Yes you are taking time away from the content creation schedule. Yes @LinusTech has admitted he was wrong, and This video shows that everyone in charge at LMG is working in some way to ensure their ducks are in a row, but the reality is that Linus was talking about what he feels and what his thoughts are and I just can't support that. Maybe that gets revisited in the future, but for now nothing really has changed with how I feel about Linus and LTT, so my actions will remain the same.

The community has itself whipped into a frenzy. I hope this video does more to assuage the discourse than the pinned post in the megathread did. (Seriously, "There won't be a big WAN Show segment about this or anything"? If Steve's video was about any other content creator, it would be a headline topic.) 
 
I really hope Terren gets involved here. This whole controversy has laid bare some serious systemic issues that need to be addressed, and this is exactly the kind of situation you want an experienced, not-personally-invested CEO to manage.

I don't think that the timing here is that amazing to be honest, I believe that she feard the community backlash so she didn't say anything publicly, since Linus lovers would eat her alive. Now, this might be different.

Most likely privates because it was made before Madison's made comments. 
 
Due to the nature of her Tweets, I do not expect LMG to publicly acknowledge them, most likely as advised by their lawyers on retainer.

No matter what happens, this was a grand master level play by her. She's been holding onto this for years. 

According to the second video from GN. The offer to pay for the auctioned prototype from Billet Labs didn't come till after GN's first video and at the time Billet Labs had yet to accept the offer. 
 
There is compiling issues that need to be addressed. The response from Linus was not great. I hope that things improve there and a restructuring of some of the interal business organizations.
