  1. Yes is has 100-240 V AC 50/60 Hz. EVGA registered it and it works with a US cord so all is good. Thanks
  2. Thanks. Newegg support is useless on weekends so I have to wait till Monday.
  3. I bought an EVGA 1000 G+ from Newegg. It came with a Chinese power cord and manual. Other than that it looks identical to the G+ I already here. Is it safe to use or should I return it. I have spare US cords so that is not an issue.
  4. I showed my Son the post since he is a vocational education teacher. He says my advise is dated and no longer relevant. He was very convincing. I will be sticking with things that I am currant on like GPUs and CPUs and leave the career advice to others. Thanks for replaying.
  5. It is in my bio. There has been court cases that say different. Carl Benjamin vs Akilah Hughes is one. I try to keep up with that sort of thing just in case I am pulled out of retirement. Were was I rude? Did I tell anybody they did not know what they are talking about or say someone was not helpful? I would never do that. Condescending reminders me of the robot in Star Wars: The Old Republic, HK-47. Have not heard it in a while. Where did I say "figure it out"? Can't seem to find that one. I think I was talking about a whole different thing as well. To me it is about getting noticed. That is how it is in a mainly visual industry. Even if you are a student you have to have a body of work even to become an Intern. Unless you know someone.
  6. Yes I do. You mite of noticed that I am based in South Florida and was in the media industry for decades. Just about everything is in English and Spanish here. I have even created web pages that gave the choice to view in English or in Spanish. If it was about any other language I would not have posted. The people I knew that did it for a living worked through agencies since they did all aspects. So text, radio, video/TV and real time translations. It is big part of the industry here. It would be fair use since subtitles are a form of narration. A video also could show use in a web page or any other media. It also does not have to be public. I was pre YouTube so I created a webpage as my portfolio.
  7. I had the tall card issue with the 3090 ti. I went with EVGA since their connecter is on the back so it would fit in an O11D.
  8. Your product. If you want to get into the business you will have to learn. You use the channel to show possible clients what you can do. You send the link to them. I am sorry I can not help you.
  9. I have the same sound card and it is in a box. It has not been needed since I went high end on motherboards. It is one of the reasons I don't mind paying extra for the boards.
  10. It is not about how good they are or they would not have put one in a Supra. It is the level of fun for those who like it. Also manuals are dying out because they are an unnessasery skill. There are lots of unnessasery skills out there that people still enjoy doing. Some are. I had a 2012 WRX 5 speed and it was fine on my expressway commute but when I went to a street commute it was unbearable. I replaced it with a 2013 BRZ and it was perfect in heavy traffic. I used it up until 2017 and replaced it with another BRZ. I did the commute in plenty of automatic rental cars and it was not a better experience so I had no reason to change.
  11. Simple. You have to self promote. An already popular gaming clip would be a good place to start since it already has an audience. Do your stuff and then send the link to any gaming company you think could be interested. YouTube channels are free so it will only cost you your time.
  12. At one point in my career as a 3D artist I decided I wanted to do 3D for gaming. Like you I needed to be recognized so I decided to mod games. It did not take long before an indie group asked me to join and the revenue from games became part of my income. That was way back in 2000. It would be a lot easer now with YouTube and a more advanced social media. All I had was gaming forums. I dropped gaming content in 2005 since my 3D design work took off and I no longer had the time for it. It was fun.
  13. 1080p monitors are not a good choice with a 3080 ti since you will be CPU bound most of the time and doing about the same frames as a 3080. My 5900x has had only a FTW3 Ultra 3080 ti and a FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti but it will show what I mean. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is CPU bound at 1080p. 1080p 1440p 4k 3080 ti 211fps 175fps 104fps 3090 ti 214fps 188fps 116fps So 12 to 13 frames at 1440p and 4k but only 3 at 1080p My i9 9900k has had a 3080 and 3080 ti and this is what it looks like. Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1080p 1440p 4k 3080 167fps 144fps 87fps 3080 ti 169fps 154fps 96fps On the few games that are GPU bound a 1080p it is a different story.
  14. It is. The FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti is 10c cooler on the GPU and 20c cooler on the vram than the MSI 3090. It also does 10 more frames at 4k. If I was not planning on getting a 40 series card with 24gbs vram I would buy a 3rd FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti. Another big feature of the FTW3 3090 ti is that they are only 5.38" wide with the power connector in the back. Cards like the Tuf 3090 ti will not fit in all my cases since they are 5.5" wide with the power connecter on top. I would not get an FTW3 3090. I have the 3080 ti version and it is too hot compered to the MSI Gaming X Trio 3090 and poorly designed compared to the 3090 ti version.
  15. I do VR with a HP Reverb G2 with a 3090. I run it at 100% with no issues.
