  1. YOK Purple Trash Pandas came in today (along with another 5ml vial of Tribosys 3204) and I'm very excited to try these out because the stem these use are apparently very close to a Zealios V2 so I'll have to contrast and compare the two switches in-depth to see how close that claim stands.

As a loose switch, it does feel extremely close to a Zealios V2 in terms of tactility, the bump is right at the top. Will take time to lube these later today and see how these do once they're lubed, evaluating their tactility and smoothness just like the Zealios V2.

  2. I like the image that Intel is like the Internet Explorer of the CPU space in this context regarding shrinks.
  3. Published my new review on the Gateron Ink Black, one of the most famous linear switches in the modern switch market.

Feel free to take a read and be sure to share to anybody who may potentially be interested in the Gateron Ink Black and keyswitches in general. :)

If only I knew someone interested in Gateron Inks ?

  4. The Gateron Ink Black is essentially a Gateron Black with a transparent, smoky housing and a black stem, and is highly regarded as one of, if not the most smooth MX-style switch on the market, rivaling that of Zeal's Tealios V2, and the Vintage Black. The Ink Black is a fairly medium-weighted switch, requiring 60g of force to actuate and 70g of force to completely bottom out. My personal preferred weight for linear switches is anywhere between 62g to 67g so the 60g of actuation force is very welcome. I personally like to use my linear switches lubed, but the Gateron Ink Black is one of those switches that doesn't require that treatment to be a smooth switch. It's a fantastic switch at stock, and is probably one of three switches that I'd consider using stock, next to the Tealios V2 and the NovelKeys Cream. The Gateron Ink Black is super smooth even without lube. With that being said, I still lubed my Gateron Ink Blacks with Tribosys 3204 as I felt that it didn't require thick lube like Krytox 205g0, and it made it even smoother. I did heavily lube my switch, but it did not interfere with the travel, actuation, upstroke, return, or keypress of the switch in any way, and I prefer heavily lubing my linears as it ensures 100% smoothness. Again, not that the Ink Black needed that in the first place, regardless. In my time scouting the switch market, I can find Ink Blacks for around $0.75-$0.80 a switch, which is fairly expensive considering the other offerings on the market, such as regular Gaterons, which can retail for as low as $0.30 a switch. However, I am confident that expending a bit more for the Ink Blacks will work in everybody who is considering a linear switch's favor, as the smoothness - once again, even at stock and unlubed - is rivalled only by the most elite switches such as the Tealios V2 and the Vintage Black - and those go for $1+ per switch each for what I can perceive having using Tealios V2 extensively as minimal improvement. In fact, since using the Ink Blacks, they've become my top 2 linear switch next to the Tealios who edges it out as a close winner. The Ink Black is smooth in every regard and the spring is really high quality. The spring feels robust and full which gives the Ink Black an ultra satisfying keypress travel. The Tealios on the other hand has a fairly hollow spring which is susceptible to pinging. If you're in the market for one of, if not the smoothest, linear, MX-style switch on the market for under $1 per switch, you cannot go wrong with the Ink Black. Ultra smooth stem, silky smooth housing, satisfying spring sturdiness, and excellent lubing capability, making it a solid linear switch.

    I don't understand the Windows 10 battery slide…

In my experience, the battery slider is telling fibs and doesn't really save battery at all.
  6. The G502 is a really heavy mouse, wouldn't recommend it for serious gaming.
  7. Entirely possible since I've recently had one of my Tealios switch die on me, I think I can fix it by adjusting the leaf inside by disassembling the switch though so I'm good in that regard. If you're up for it, would definitely recommend opening up and seeing if the switch is the issue. Yes!
  8. One thing I've noticed is how low my new board sits compared to my old one. End-to-end, the KBDfans 5 Degree sits seriously low and I really do like this moderately low profile as I don't have to raise/bend my wrists too far up.

Also, peep how much the keycaps stand up, OEM vs Cherry profile keycaps.

  9. The Brother & The Sister Brother (left): 67g Tealios V2 lubed with Tribosys 3204 Brass plate Zeal stabs lubed with Permatex dielectric grease + Krytox 205g0 KBDfans 5 Degree Sister (right): 70g NovelKeys Creams unlubed Aluminium plate Cherry plate-mount stabs lubed with Permaxtex dielectric grease Wooden case
  10. So I guess canonically these are brother and sister boards now. 67g Tealios V2 lubed with Tribosys 3204 vs 70g NovelKeys Creams unlubed. (potentially lubed in the future with Krytox 205g0)

I love how much of a contrast both boards have, I didn't even mean to do it when I was after my new one. I thought to myself I wanted a black, muted board, and ended up with the polar opposite of my former board.

  11. Back when VAR was introduced, I thought the teams playing would be able to request a review upon a call, but ultimately the decision to check is up to the referee and it baffles me that the referee - and his assistants - to decide the final call on whether to review it. Would definitely be in favour of teams being able to request a VAR check, say perhaps 3 max per game, so that the referee is required to check the footage back for maximum transparency on a play. Neymar, Ronaldo, and Suarez wouldn't even be able to play 10 minutes on the field.
  12. To be honest, why use DisplayPort when you're not going to take advantage of it, whether it be high refresh or high resolution, which is why I stick with HDMI.
  13. Might be an obvious suggestion, but have you tried looking up some teardown videos/guides on the Corsair K95 and finding a resolution for if you can take apart the keyboard? Might give you a definite answer on whether you're able to access the culprit switch for re-soldering.
  14. I actually haven't seen the new Cache in person yet, I've watched videos about the new Cache but I am curious to see it for myself, I've not played Global Offensive for about 4 months now.

    Who the fuk is Jimin?

Yeah, BTS is the one K-pop group that is insanely popular with Westerners in particular, Americans cream over them, they're nearly batshit insane with the dedication to BTS.

    Logitech G304/G305...my next mouse??

I'm 8 months into my G305, having gone through 1 AA battery since the HERO sensor is nutty with battery life. I've so far had zero issues with my G305. I am super delicate with my equipment so your mileage may vary.
  17. Not gonna lie when I say I would like to see that happen. Curious if ray-traced Counter-Strike were to happen, would it be on the Source engine or would Valve need to create a new engine to support ray-tracing?
  18. My point is I don't like leaks and will only trust the real thing.
  19. I'll believe it when I see it, and even if I see it, what are the chances of it being not a 14nm+++++ referesh?

    Who the fuk is Jimin?

If you mean the Jimin that just had his birthday, he's a member of the K-pop boygroup BTS.

I bought a new shirt from work today and natura…

As much as I advocate lubing, it won't 'fix' a key @VenomZ_. If your switch is broken, it's broken, lube won't fix it. Even then, if you wanted to lube, you'd still need tools to open up those switches.
  22. Source: The Verge Major investors (can we even call them that anymore?) Visa, Mastercard, eBay, Stripe, & Mercado Pago have withdrawn from Facebook's Libra cryoptocurrency association. This comes after eBay started the exits last week. eBay & Stripe gave statements on their stance on the Facebook Libra Association: Libra's Dante Disparte then responded to the exits by shedding light upon the situation and giving a final word on the association. I don't follow cryptocurrencies at all, but the fact tha eBay, Visa, & Mastercard have all pulled out probably says something about what could come out of Facebook's new cryptocurrency campaign. The backers behind Libra still seem ambitious about the campaign so I'm interested to see how it all pans out. It's Facebook though, so don't hold your breath.
