  1. If you don't care about not having an igpu then I'd just keep it. Though, you should definitely test it while it's still within the return period. I'm not sure how common it is these days but there was a scam where people were delidding high end CPUs and swapping the IHS from the high end CPU on to a much cheaper CPU and returning the cheap CPU as the expensive one. Just because the IHS says 14900KF doesn't mean it actually is one. If the motherboard BIOS shows it as 14900KF then you're good.

  3. Either. They're both good enough to the point where it doesn't really matter. Main consideration between those two would be usability. The RMx Shift has its cables on the side of the power supply which may have issues with compatibility with some cases, or may be a desired feature if looking to hide cables.
  4. That's a really odd problem. Are you sure it's related to the graphics card? What are you doing with the PC while it's running for several days? Are you putting it to sleep or hibernation, or is the PC left on and running the entire time? Is the game you're playing left running the entire time? Any reason why you can't just restart the PC once every few days?
  5. Mr Beast should do a video where instead of buying everything in somebody's cart at a store, he allows them to watch YouTube for 10 minutes and buys them everything that gets advertised to them in that time. All forms of advertisement included: YouTube video ads, banner ads, pop ups over videos, in video sponsored ads by the creators, product placement in videos, donations /subscriptions to creators who beg for donations or advertise patreons, etc.

Just buy absolutely everything that gets advertised to you on YouTube just to see how much it would actually cost.

It'll be interesting to see which channels and videos people watch trying to maximise what they get. What would you pick?

years of blocking targeted ads would not serve me well here

  6. The sponsor is Jawa.gg But you'll get a much better deal selling the graphics card yourself and shopping around for a good deal on a new card. You could save hundreds by selling it yourself depending on what card you have.
  7. Those images are ripped directly from the lttstore website. It's not a clone, it's a scam. If you are really lucky you might just get some cheap generic multi-bit screwdriver that looks nothing like it, but probably they'll just take your money and run.
  8. Shouldn't be. The RX 550 supports HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 which will both support 2560x1440 144Hz. Are you using the displayport or HDMI port from the graphics card?

  11. "I used a random number generator and it gave me 0, how is that possible?" Bottleneck calculator websites are completely meaningless garbage. You'd get more insight in to how your computer performs by reading tea leaves. There is no way to calculate a bottleneck because different applications will stress different components differently.

It's really old (15+ years) and without the extra cables it's pretty useless. Find something else. If you are buying second hand power supplies make sure they come with all the cables included. Edit: Was released 2009.
  13. Check with the company what their dress policy is. If it's not in an employee handbook or employment documentation then just ask. If in doubt go with a collared button down shirt and pants for the first few days at least. Once you get a feel for the place and better idea what is expected you can always go more casual.
  14. It's fine to have the PSU fan facing up as long as there's nothing blocking it (like cases with PSU shrouds). It probably won't make that much difference to the case airflow unless you have no other fans.
  15. What an awful location for the 24 pin connector on that board. PCIe riser cable to move the GPU away from the 24 pin connector is really the best way. Only other option I can think of would be to remove the 24pin connector from the board and replace it with a 90 degree angle connector.
  16. That's really it though. Cards like this and the 1650 exist for OEM systems with crap power supplies without PCIe connectors. AMD RX 6600 TDP 130W. Arc A750 TDP 225W. They're not really easy to compare to because for the people considering the RTX 3050 those probably aren't even an option. Really the only people who should be considering the RTX 3050 are people who are restricted by their system and limited to <75W options like the 1650... The closest (non-Nvidia) competitors for this type of card would be Intel Arc A380 6GB (currently $120) or AMD RX 6400 4GB (currently $130). The Arc A380 being $120 does kind of make $180 for the RTX 3050 6GB seem like a tough sell.
  17. USD $999 to AUD is $1530. Plus 10% GST that brings it up to $1683. Cheapest price on Mwave and Scorptec is $1870. Yeah, something isn't adding up there. I guess the question is can you actually buy the 4080 Super in USA for $999 or are they all over the $999 MSRP there too. Manufacturers always have cards that are above MSRP. My guess is we're just not getting the MSRP base model cards. AUD $1870 prices works out to be $1100 USD without tax included so if the same cards are selling in USA for $1100 then we're not really getting boned here in Australia. At least not any more than anybody else.
  18. As a replacement for the GTX1650 this actually makes sense. The 1650 only had 4GB of RAM so with the 3050 6GB you're getting +50% VRAM increase plus RTX features and probably a performance bump from the GPU. You're really just getting a better 1650 for basically the same price. GTX 1650 MSRP $150 (Release 2019) RTX 3050 6GB MSRP $179 Calculating inflation from 2019 to now for $150 is... $180

  20. That was a bug within adblock causing that, not YouTube. https://au.pcmag.com/video-streaming-services/103443/youtube-is-slowing-down-load-times-for-viewers-with-ad-blockers-on Try Firefox instead of Chrome.
  21. Moved to programs, apps, and websites. What browser are you using? I haven't experienced any issues on Firefox + uBlock origin, but I don't think I've watched any YouTube videos in the past few days either so if something has recently changed I probably wouldn't have noticed.
  22. If you don't have a specific usecase for multiple GPUs then don't bother. You'll be better off just selling the 3050.
