  1. Probably because Linus was being incredibly pedantic on this topic to the point of shooting himself in the Vessi-adorned foot. Linus's point that nothing is waterproof, while technically correct, it's not the way we use the term in common parlance. We use the term "waterproof" to mean that something will generally repel water. That's true of these shoes. Saying something is "water resistant", as Linus advocated for, has different connotations, isn't what Vessi is promoting, and frankly describes the product inadequately. If I stand in a puddle, does water permeate the shoe? If not, it's completely reasonable to call them waterproof. If I was Vessi I would very much push back against the stubbornness and it seems like they have.

    W11 changes sound?

Is this all audio or just videos? YouTube specifically?
  3. Jesus Christ man, no, and I can't imagine why you would desire to live like that. I feel the need to leave the house and go somewhere after a long day of working from home. There are some days where I wish I could stay home, but you know, responsibility.
  4. Did you read OP's post? He purchased used, and given the price I imagine he purchased it cracked.
  5. Yeah bro, you are pretty cooked. The worst thing you could have done is plug it in and attempt to charge it while still wet. For future reference, whenever you get electronics wet: turn them off immediately, remove power source (ie. battery if possible), clean with isopropyl alcohol then leave to dry for an extended period of time. Only then can you add back in the power source and attempt to turn back on.
  6. and also illegal in the US under CAN-SPAM.
  7. This isn't advisable. Using outdated software, especially one as exposed as a internet browser, is a terrible idea from a security perspective. I would highly recommend simply moving to another (property updated) browser rather than open yourself up to security risk purely for aesthetic preferences If you must, here's a link with old versions. https://google-chrome.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions Don't forget to stop auto updates: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7125792
  8. Hi there- I'm really sorry you are going threw this, and you are right it's really serious. It may be that you simply aren't able to get the information that you are looking for. While Google may have it logged somewhere deep in their system, that doesn't mean that you will have access to getting the data without a court order. I'm not sure the legal implications of what you are describing, but it's certainly worth talking with the police or lawyer and see if they have any suggestions. The only option I'm aware of is the Google Data Download/Takeout, which I believe is what you are describing earlier. There is an option for email there, so it may be worth looking into, but this is more to see what data Google has collected on you, nor necessarily an audit log, like you are looking for. Anyway, this is slightly off topic and I'm sure you've already gone through this, but it's necessary to ask yourself what else does he have access to? If he's willing to do this, what else is he willing to do? Any and all important passwords and accounts need to changed/secured on a secured computer, preferably one that's reformatted. Best of luck with this shitty situation and I hope it gets better for you.

  10. Am I missing something? Why not just subnet out and block internet access on the VLAN. Assign the blocked VLAN to the ports, and a unblocked VLAN to the wireless network. Firewall them out.
  11. I mean, OP didn't mention budget so I have no idea what is or isn't cost prohibitive but you can get something like this used 2U SuperMicro chasis comes with the backplane, fans and PSU for under $150 shipped.

  13. Has labs even published their current day testing methodology? If it's published somewhere, I'm not aware of it.
  14. The system isn't detecting the GPU. Most common reason is that it isn't seated correctly.
  15. Are you seeing actual frequency drops at 80C? It's certainly possible, but if the fans are reported spinning at rated speed I'd be hard pressed to say that's the case.
  16. I agree, I looked through all the photos you provided and I can't see any evidence of damage.
  17. An "Operating System" is such a loosely defined term that you could reasonably say a GPU runs an OS today.
  18. Is this a new or used motherboard? If new, press Y to reset TPM.
  19. This is a pretty clear indication that there's an issue with the CPU. Start be reseating the CPU, checking pins carefully to make sure there's nothing bent. Reseat the RAM as well. Go from there. If you are still having issues, post specs.
  20. Hey, I'm wondering the same thing about my keyboard.
  21. Well, you did a piss-poor job of expressing your point. Why don't you explain it more clearly?
  22. Western names = okay to make fun of. Eastern names = not okay to make fun of. Is that the conclusion we are coming to?
