  1. What have you tried already? Have you looked for bottlenecks? I would start by DDUing the drivers in safemode.
  2. I'm not going to put the blame on the memory or the motherboard seeing how both worth with your 1700x. Memory isn't going to just stop working from CPU to CPU. If anything I would put the blame on your 3900x, seeing how that's the one component you are changing that is causing issues. Can you be a bit more specific regarding what's happening when you turn it on? Fans spinning? POST beeps? anything like that? Does it appear to be booting, just not display outputing?
  3. Sounds stupid but we have to check: Are you plugging your monitor into the GPU or the motherboard. Display should be plugged into the GPU directly.
  4. Yupppp I wouldn't do it. If it smells like a scam it probably is.
  5. https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/X470-AORUS-ULTRA-GAMING-rev-10/support#support-cpu Make sure you flash your BIOS to at least F40
  6. I got these from Digikey It's not the easiest thing in the world and takes some soldering, but totally worth it.
  7. Just as an FYI if you are in the market for a new laptop. I called Dell regarding a question on the XPS 13 for my mom.

During the call they asked if I was a student. I said yes and they took $300 off the laptop. No school verification required... Just asked what school I went to. That's it.

    I'm just saying....

Also that's how you get into Museums and Historical sightseeing places for either very cheap or for free. Just have to tell them that you're a Student and that's it.

  8. Unless you need it within the next 3-4 months, wait.
  9. 35% more than VW actually. Both are fairly large, certainly not a monopoly.
  10. We already have a word. No need to change definitions. The word you are looking for is oligopoly.
  11. No? They don't even appear to have a large share of the market in EU of all places.
  12. Stable? Sure! It's as stable as your internet connection and assuming you are using domain logins with AD. It would also allow you to easily set up for users to work from home if that's something your company is interested in. (don't forget 2fa though) As for specs, I'm not entirely sure. It's been a few years since I have deployed them. I imagine they would run you in the area of $200-400/ea depending on your needs.
  13. Any reason Windows RDP can't be used with a thin client?
  14. This is already very possible and happening right now in China. I think it's important to separate "tech dystopia" and abusive authoritarian government here. I don't view them as mutually inclusive. I'm not sure what a simply Tech Dystopia would look like. Capitalistic hellscape comprised of only massive multinational corporations that control all resources and thus the entire global economy?
  15. Which is why it surprises me so much that they still have 2 map applications. I have to imagine it's because there would be massive backlash if they did ever end up merging it... More than every other product they kill.
  16. Agree. It doesn't look like physical damage to the screen. Might be the digitizer.
  17. Sound's like the needle is going to me. Back up your data ASAP.
  18. What space limitations are you running into? That seems like a pretty big case you should be able to fit any cooler into. Sidenote: airflow on that case looks GOD awful.
  19. (wonder when they will kill Wase like they do everything else)
  20. Yeah I'm not sure why everyone is so down on this here. Are they meant for enthusiasts? No, of course not. Don't treat it like it's meant for you. For budget builds, this is awesome. Imagine pairing a 3400g w/ a motherboard for $160. That's a pretty sweet deal. You could realistically build an entire PC you can game on for $350.
