  1. I've used an app called Spacedesk to utilize my Ipad as a portable monitor before. Completely free and easy to setup. Most apps to do this will drain battery more than sitting idly on your home screen as it has to process all the information going back and forth, essentially doing software emulation of all the hardware that makes a monitor work, and there will be latency compared to using high bandwidth display cables. That said, spacedesk worked great for me, allows the touchscreen inputs to still work, and was fast enough to have a video stream through discord play on it without looking choppy.
  2. I think I was one of the few excited for this feature, and as another commentor stated, it was to half baked. Had to do so many workarounds to get things working. Several commands ran through terminal just to get a single app running outside of the amazon storefront. All the while, performance was very inneficient and pretty sure it partially killed my Surface Pro 7 as the device heated to all hell using a non 3D app.
  3. A bit late here, but alot of the final fantasy and dragon quest games have official and good ports to mobile. If you like RPGs they are worth a check. Star rail is pretty fun as well even as FTP game but has gacha elements. As for other mentions, personally I have used PPSSPP on phones since galaxy S4 days and performance for PSP emulation is great.
  4. Does the cpu fan spin if plugged into another fan connector? You can bypass the warning just for a check. If it doesnt, might be a defective heatsink. If it does, then maybe a bad port on the mobo, which you can either RMA, or use a jumper to "trick" into thinking something is plugged in.
  5. If this was a domain pc, are there any group policies / scripts that may not have been pushed to the new PC to redirect usage. In the past I have seen things like documents folder getting routed into onedrive without user intervention.
  6. Out of curiosity did you ever get this working OP? I was gifted a Y60 that I want to use but was running into a very similar situation with an avermedia dual capture card (has 2 hdmi in and a out so cant be half heightrd) and a 3080.
  7. Welp gave it a fair shot today, tried the latest 2 BIOS revisions to no luck. Tried various other settings with CSM on / off, attempting to repair windows, another attempt at re-install, and disabling intel rapid storage but no luck. Got scared as I guess in all the bios setting switches, I almost corrupted my old install when I put the 12700k and it took a few boots before it would load back in, so I guess im done trying this for now. A part of the story I left out is that I did buy another motherboard and have enough components for a HTPC I was gonna slot the 12700k into afterwards, so I tried the 13700k in that system. No issues at all and was able to get a fresh install of windows 11 up to the network screen. Still baffled at why I can't just do a slot in upgrade with the first Z690, or even at least do a fresh install with the new CPU, but after not having my PC for a few days guess ill just dwell on it until I find the motivation to try more tinkering with it. Guess next step would be to nag asus customer support....
  8. Ill give this a shot after I get out of work and see where it lands me.
  9. Hello LTT forum. After a few days of intermittent troubleshooting, I am starting to run out of ideas and really hope someone else has seen this issue. Recently I was able to acquire a 13700k and opted it would be cool to upgrade the 12700k in my rig to it. My motherboard is a Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus D4 with the latest 2802 bios so I figured this would be a slot in upgrade. I get a post and can reach bios no issue after slotting in the new CPU. However, after slotting in the new CPU the bios doesn't seem to properly recognize any of my drives. Right after I slot in the new CPU, the AMI page shows them as existing, but once I get into the advance menu they do not appear under NVMe devices or the HDD section. I can still see the Samsung 980 Pro as a boot path, but after a few spins of the windows circle, it always errors out saying inaccessible boot device. Putting in the old CPU, everything works again and I can boot into windows 11. I have tried resetting the bios settings by removing the CMOS battery and clicking the load optimize defaults option to no success. I disabled the RAID 1 I had set in windows and removed an extra NVMe drive in case I ran out of PCIe lanes to no dice. I reseated the CPU in the midst of going back and forth and each time and the old one continues to work so don't think its a physical issue at least with the board (can't rule out the CPU yet). Worst is that I was about to give up and tried doing a fresh install of windows after seeing someone with an AMD CPU post something similar and never finding a solution, and none of the drives were visible in the installer. At a real loss for something I thought would be a slot in upgrade. Is there some low key issue with 13th gen on Z690 where sometimes they just don't detect storage devices, or do I potentially have a defective CPU? Last thing I can think of trying is maybe rolling back a single BIOS in the event the 14th gen update borked something recursively, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.
  10. I ordered one and only got the legs on the first day. I reached out to amazon, who contacted the seller, and they said they ship legs and tabletop seperately to avoid damage. I got a fed ex tracking number and it showed up a day later. Hope this helps, best bet is to still shoot a message to the seller via amazon asap for documentation.
  11. Hopefully optimistic they keep things mostly the same, but just add more flair to it. I joined the keyboard club when they were selling it for 1$ promo, so excited to see some of the new products. With a lot of other spots to buy similar stuff as well, not to concerned if it goes downhill.
  12. I would love this on the sole premise of apps that lose functionality due to apples store policies (think something like the state of IOS floatplane). I tried to use a wifi scanning app on a iphone SE the other day and it lost so much functionality compared to android that I think this is necessary.
  13. As a pixel 7 pro user, there are some features I really like about the newer pixel devices, like the ability to create live translated captions on youtube, and use google translate with photos. I came from a Note 9 and two of the features im sorely missing are samsung dex and the better integration with windows phone link where I could stream my phone onto my PC very easily. The pixel 7 pro feels really buggy as well at times, something I never had with my note 9, where occasionally the phone just hangs during certain apps, gets stuck on unlock, when putting to sleep the screen stays active just long enough that it can accidentally click something when being put away, etc. The screen on the pixel 7 pro also feels way more fragile, I hadn't scratched my old note 9 in 5 years without a screen protector, but the pixel 7 pro got scratched within a week of me owning it with not drops. This is just my experience from both brands, I don't know if the A54 will get all the same love the Note did as thats comparing a budget model to the flagship, but thats my experience moving between the two brands. The different android skins honestly didn't feel that different to me other than the major android upgrades I got with the new phone, and having to teach myself the flipped back & menu button location (I prefer samsungs way). I plan to return to samsung after my few years with the pixel 7 if nothing else piques my interest, but the pixel 7 will probably get better with software updates so its not to bad.
  14. In the states I used Letgo, Facebook marketplace, and Craigslist back when I refurbed machines destined for ewaste. Depending on the specs and condition of the machine, what you may earn from it varies, but generally there are people out there who just need a machine for browsing the web, and as long as it powers on and does that you may be able to sell it.
  15. Bad Rats. It doesnt get more on depth than this.
  16. I would try reseating the gpu to make sure all the pins have proper contact. I would also check other software to confirm its not just cpuz getting a false reading (something like hwinfo). I used to use an old alienware laptop that had direct pcie x4 for egpus and it capped off around a gtx 1080 in performance so you are definitely losing some performance in certain games with only 4 lanes of pcie on 2080 ti.
  17. If you can get the CMD, run it as admin and try "SFC /scannow". This will check for any integrity issues within the OS. If it says it found some but cant repair it, you can also try DISM commands to fix it (i forget these off the top of my head but google is your friend). If either of these dont work, third option would be to download a windows ISO of the latest update online, and reinstall from there. It wont lose you any data (though a backup is surely a safe thing to do) and should repair anything causing issues.
  18. Some things to check would be if the storage device is appearing in the boot order inside your bios. If you have a second computer you can also check if there is bios update available for your motherboard to see if its some weird bios glitch preventing booting.
  19. After the reset did you get the latest graphics drivers? I think that model uses a nvidia laptop GPU which may have the ports routed to it.
  20. That looks like a defective display to me, however could also be caused by the graphics drivers. For troubleshooting, I would see if plugging the laptop directly into a TV or external monitor has the same issues. Ontop of that, fully uninstalling display drivers (using a tool like display drivers uninstaller) and then installing new ones while in safe mode would be a good idea to see if its anything software related. In the case that it is a defective display, you might need to either think about taking it to a repair shop or trying to replace it yourself seeing if there is a good replacement unit available on a site like ebay or aliexpress.
  21. Gave it a shot for 2 days and had a slowdown an hour after I did the switch and again today so I don't think the fTPM/PTT is the cause here, tho it was a good shot. Gonna read around a bit more as I'm running low on ideas at this point and there's a good chance it might just be the install...
  22. Giving it a shot on my end with disabling the fTPM. Will post an update if I see the slowdown still.
  23. I can say you aren't alone, I have been having the same issue for awhile now running a fresh install of W11 pro on a i7-8700, Asrock Fatality h370 board, 32gb of ram and RTX 3080. I tried swapping ram between several sets, changing gsync settings/monitor refresh rates, overclocking and underclocking memory, changing some performance features on and off in the motherboard bios, testing to see if it was due to certain applications etc. For a few reasons I can't go back to Windows 10 anymore without some sacrifices, so hoping to look for a solution to this issue.
  24. Believe its the early 2005 one with upgraded ram, DP 2.7ghz, and a ati radeon 9650
  25. power mac g5, my bad forgot to clarify that!
