  1. modern CPUs downclock themselves with no coolers to avoid overheating.. if it has that technology you *could* run a cpu without a heatsink, but seing as it will probably only run at 10% or less of its full power, why would you?
  2. if OP gave someone access to the computer, either physically or remotely, that can happen.. but windows does not generate a password on your account out of the blue or anything like that.. it has to be done by someone, or being infected by a virus or something
  3. unless it's a 286 equivalent, then you need a cooler.. can you use zip ties or string to fasten and secure the heatsink? it's far from an ideal solution, but i'm guessing this isn't your daily driver so it should be fine.. if you do use this daily, i would rather save up money for an upgrade instead of macguyvering something just to have a different case..
  4. does she have an iphone as well? i had one but changed to android, after that my iphone using friends would have to specify messages be sent as SMS instead of imessage.. it might be the same issue?
  5. i agree about lighting up the rack.. i think that video was done in december and was to run for a whole year.. i'm expecting a video will be released late december/early january
  6. you can get internal fan controllers like NZXT grid and control it from software..
  7. you should be able to download a fresh copy and use your license with that..
  8. i don't think you can un merge them, but if you know which details belongs to who, just make new contacts and add something identifying which is which in the name like (friend) or something
  9. sorry, we don't help with issues due to piracy
  10. why did you get a replacement motherboard? did you buy a new one? was there something else wrong with it? your second motherboard has never been able to post?
  11. which games crash? how do the games crash? are you using a client like origin or steam? in most cases, issues like these are software based, not hardware based.. if your computer boots with the ram, it should work fine even though its not qualified.. otherwise it wouldn't wont work..
  12. use this chart to help you choose
  13. does it run ok (ignoring the issues you mentioned) without the battery installed? you could also take your vacuum claner and a make a cone shape with a piece of paper and try to clean out all air inlets, fan inlet ans heatsink..
  14. i really only used the 1080ti as an example that your psu is more than good enough for your build.. your typical usage will probably be lower than 300W as rarely does a computer draw max power in games
  15. seems like a typical overheat issue.. have you used compressed air to clean out fans and heatsinks? sometimes you have to disassemble the computer to be able to properly clean out dirt and dust from the fan and heatsink. it could also be bad thermal paste.. get some new proper paste and remove and replace the thermal compound on the laptop..
  16. yeah, i'd say your system draws about half, with some overclocking, you could run your system on 400W, but that's cutting it a bit close.. (max draw is around 350w) https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator a good 650w like the EVGA g2 would be a good choice with headroom to add say a 1080ti.. also, your system needs ram
  17. yes, the top ones are for ssd (and optical drives or other stuff you put into the media bays) and the bottom ones are for the mainboard. some "mainboard" screws have round heads (these were usually used for 3.5" drives) but yo ucan easily tell them apart by the thread. study the difference for a bit and you'll be able to sort out screws easily ion your own next time
  18. you use the small screws.. the one with round heads and small threads. the ones with hexagonal heads and bigger threads are for 3.5" drives and motherboard (or the standoffs) seems like the selection you get with a computer case
  19. i get the same result.. nothing you can do, problem is located at google or southland holdings
  20. what browser? any plugins / extentions? tried with other browsers?
  21. is it an old SSD? have you tried another sata cable? have you tried this guide (or similar)? https://www.pcworld.com/article/3113585/windows/how-to-repair-windows-master-boot-record-and-fix-your-bricked-pc.html
