richardp reacted to Glenwing in 1440p 144Hz Cable to use?
There are no certifications for different bandwidth levels, other than RBR. Beyond that there is only a Standard DisplayPort cable. Yes, it is possible to find DisplayPort cables that do not handle higher data rates. That does not mean they are certified for a lower bandwidth level, it means they are not certified, period. There is only one certification for DisplayPort cables, and any cable that meets that certification will work for full HBR2 bandwidth. If you a buy a non-certified cable instead, naturally all bets are off.
Any cable listed in the DisplayPort certification database should work for this.

richardp got a reaction from Glenwing in Guide to Display Cables / Adapters (v2)
I got the monitor and the supplied cable is long enough and works perfectly.
Relief!

richardp got a reaction from D2ultima in Razer laptops failing
Razer laptops seem to fail right and left.
It seems to affect 2014-2015 models.
It seems to affect many models.
They seem to have bad mosfet issues.
The newer models seem to have a lot of BSODs caused by the drives. One of the drive apparently is positioned on the board in a way that it overheats and fails causing BSOD.
The drive issue affects the Pro 2016 models starting at close to $4000.
Way to go Razer.

What anti-virus do you have? Are you using any system tweak tool? Are you installing any pirated software tools or such? (sometimes they modify system files)
Do you use any security software like firewalls, beside your A/V?
Do you have RAM as disk?
