  1. correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly confident most of the water systems in the USA are gravity fed, hence why they work during power outages. That's also why you see water towers near highways and the like. I don't think a large portion, rather a very small bit of the overall total, of the US water system is being forcibly pumped anywhere
  2. I have yet to have a TV provider that actually had 1080p support....they are all 1080i at best in my area that I have been able to use over the years and some, i.e. Charter cable, only broadcast certain "HD" channels in 720p so 4k is still not viable at least in metropolitan Birmingham, AL
  3. this is slightly on and off topic, but the voice commands on my xbox one confuse me sometimes. I got really angry at the console the other day and yelled "Xbox, f*ck you!" and it then muted my volume. Now I can say that phrase to mute and unmute my a/v audio
  4. I know it's to promote Crossfire compatibility, but it still cracks me up that their is an AMD logo on an intel platform motherboard
  5. It's always interesting to see the insides of computers like this....although I have never fully understood Apple's affinity for using daughter boards on their systems (the new mac pro trashcan looks like there are 10+ daughter boards inside that thing)
  6. I just wish Microsoft would allow the Mac versions of Office to have VBA functionality. Office for Mac is not a "full" version as there is no developer mode to use with VBA code (i.e. a lot of my job is making templates in Excel that have VBA code running in the background to create sales orders and things, and these templates are NOT compatible with Mac because Mac cannot handle (or Microsoft will not allow the Mac version to handle) the VBA code.
  7. I play on Xbox One. I;m a level 26 Warlock right now. I have tried the VOG and it was brutal (we had a 29, 25,26, 27, 25, 23). I would be in for giving it a go with you. PM me and I'll send you my gamertag.
  8. Isn't VDSL somewhat already rolled out? I'm fairly positive my Uverse internet is "VDSL". I get 45mbps down with 2 bonded phone lines.
  9. I disagree with this statement as the MAC versions of office do not have support for visual basic, so any custom things done to say an Excel template (.XLT) file type will not work properly on MACs.
  10. this should be an interesting debate.....the only cards I have any firsthand experience with are the 7770 radeon and the gtx 780...so between those two the 780 lol
  11. IMO the Kraken X41 is your best bet as its thicker than the other single 140 AIOs. Pair it with 1 or 2 Noctua PPC fans and you should be good to go
  12. just a heads up I am parting this PC out via the classifieds. If I haven't listed something already in a classified, PM me to see if I plan on selling it (just about everything in the case is up for grabs)
  13. other than extremely large capacity drives, I would assume there is a cost benefit to the larger form factor as it has been around much longer. For SSDs this is irrelevant as they are relatively new and the extra space in a 3.5" enclosure wouldn't be used economically. honestly I think it just comes down to drive manufacturers not having to change their assembly and manufacturing lines in plants as well as a cost benefit and that gives you your answer
  14. I am a bit confused as I have 2 of this exact monitor and have had zero ghosting issues. Are you saying that you have overclocked the panels? Or have you now begun to see ghosting without and tampering with the panels? reason I ask is my monitors are both left at factory settings and I have not had any issues like you are describing.
