  1. and Others, "IPS is Interruptible Power Supply. It has the same components as the UPS except that its Inverter will only turn on when the AC main power is out thus there is interruption during the switching of power from AC to Inverter. While the UPS is continuously running and supplying power to the load by its inverter which is powered by batteries. Only the battery charger stops when the main AC power is out." https://www.quora.com/What-are-those-differences-between-UPS-IPS-and-AVR But Ik how this sounds to run ceiling fans taking 250w(or more) total (4 fans- they are like as old as me-16-20 years), Lights of 100W (total) LED's and the TV (buying a new one), but its actually a necessity. let me explain. My sister about 12 years old has autism and while the load shedding is not that bad but a second off electrify freaks her out and she has a habit of watching videos and TV running and we installed a satellite TV connection just for her. For my needs, i could use very low powered laptop (run linux on it) those netbooks that runs like 150w 512Mb of ram or something. and a table fan (about 50W). So today i went out to check out my options. and others are locals who can put those stuff together. what should i do, and yes If my dad wants to run the house (not liking how i planning things to run things at min) then we could just get a generator and UPS for PC and Battery packs for the ISP converters and routers. (i'll talk to him about this though and not really sure what he is going to side to). so with that in mind, what do i do? 900VA is like 330.29 USD amd second one well its more than this. 1USD=80Tk.
  2. i guess so, Honestly the only thing that holding me from nuking windows is valorant and LoL, and a renaming tool called Bulk rename Utility. so idk if this will even be needed but nothing wrng with gaining abit of knowledge.
  3. Lights (LED), literally 16-18 year old ceiling fans, A socket for running CRT TV and a DTH.
  4. also this should back up the home dir right? tar -cpzf backup.tar.gz --exclude=/backup.tar.gz --exclude=/proc --exclude=/tmp --exclude=/mnt --exclude=/dev --exclude=/sys / so my home partition in the exHDD is not a problem here.
  5. Bro i am really sorry that i didnt check in LTTf , DUDE this is soo awesome. I really love Linux and main it actually and would prefer over windows anyday. I logged in today just to ask for a laptop under 350$ (linux friendly i mean) and i found another Gem in the Linux community. Love you man, will try this.
  6. Preferably using a dedicated icon or shortcut on my doc. I already assigned certain app to run on certain work spaces.
  7. my home is in extHDD and root in my SSD(and also windows).. "Warning: Do not attempt to mount or boot the partition that runs the host OS with a VM, as that can lead to severe data corruption. And no matter which drive or partition you want to mount, it's always a good idea to back up any existing data on it before continuing." is it saying i shouldnt mount windows while running windows or u cant mount partition that has another OS on the same drive but on a different partition.
  8. Can you tell me how to though, i really cannot find any tutorials to do that.
  9. oh that would work too, my work is very minimal tbh. guess VM can do the trick.
  10. Basically i don't wanna do all my Configure from the beginning and i really don't wanna delete (dual booting) it to make way.
  11. if u can see the other posts, you will get where i am coming from. i have no idea how it happened and now ended up reinstalling the OS though deleting the volume.
  12. Yes, thank you for the heads up. i think its best not to dwell on (not so) advance stuff so early.
  13. ya thats the name, how did i forget it
  14. i believe its gnome files, it directs me there so i guess thats it
  15. i need to edit the scripts there so ig i need to change the owner... now how to do it? very noob with linux
  16. eh? i been using pop os for a month now.. and under fresh reinstall there it was 20.04 lts. i dont think i messed up there.
  17. I had a very corrupt Pen drive i wanted to delete volume and reformat but once i inserted (i just left it in while it was booting up) chrome doesn't open, Firefox says need to quit the running firefox to open. Cannot select processes in the gnome system monitor (like it ghosts back to file system, as if someone is constantly clicking file system), POP SHOP cannot look for anything. tried to reinstall by going recovery mode, first time it failed-restart then tried again. it worked but login back in gave me the same issues again(Even the extensions and apps are intact- i thought i needed to reinstall them, did it even do anything?). I have no idea what to do and i cannot do anything or write anything in the \home. NOT EVEN A FKING SCREENSHOT. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP
  18. UPDATE Fixed..... Just needed to change from full to half duplex, even my ISP have no clue but my connection shows its true package speed when i run at Half duplex now as the port itself is damaged (kinda) i believe it cannot push that many lanes(for full duplex) but windows somehow is able to carry it regardless (i made some changes in the adapter settings to give me stable ping). HOW THE FK I DIDN'T THINK OF THIS BEFORE. https://www.garron.me/en/linux/ubuntu-network-speed-duplex-lan.html as to how i did it (i am still a noob but this was fun)
