  1. Shoulda got a Ryzen. Intel is garbage right now
  2. 980TI. Near identical performance to the 1070 and more CUDA cores and costs less
  3. Get a PCIE card.... USB Wifi cards suck. Get one that is AC Wifi for around $50
  4. Hey, I want to sell my used 770 that i have had lying around since i upgraded to a 1070. Its a GTX 770 EVGA SC, about 2 years old. It has absolutely no cosmetic damage to it. I want to sell it on Ebay and was thinking about $100. How much would you guys say its worth?
  5. Very good thread, very informative and true. 1080p at high refresh rates does require more cpu horsepower than running 4k at 60hz!
  6. So far, my I5-4670k is at 4.3GHZ at 1.270v with a hyper 212 evo, with a max temp of 75C.
  7. Depends, If your trying to run 1080p at 144hz, it will bottleneck only a few games like battlefield 1 but others will not. If your trying to play at 1440p 60-75hz, your fine, but once you start trying to go above 100fps your going to bottleneck on a i5. Certain games like BF1 really eat threads and CPU's up.
  8. Bottom line he needs a cpu upgrade too
  9. You can defenitley get away with 8gb if you have too. But if I was building a new rig I would get 16gb for wiggle room. Most games I run use like 6gb
  10. At that temp range, you will damage your cpu. Maybe reapply thermal paste and cooler, maybe you applyed it wrong?
  11. Yes some games are very cpu intensive.. Games like BF1 bottleneck my I5 4670k and 1070. But games like overwatch dont. It really just depends on the game. Some games use alot of threads like battlefield 1. Others dont. This can be fixed with a i7 upgrade.
  12. I have a Gigabyte 1070 G1 Gaming. It's a pretty decent 3 fan card. Stays pretty cool, around 68c under full load. Dosent really matter which verison you pick, they all perform the same, pick what you like best.
  13. Hey guys, Trying to decide between 1440p 75hz https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PB277Q-WQHD-2560x1440-Monitor/dp/B01EN3Z7QQ and 1080p 144hz G sync https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB241H-bmipr-1920x1080/dp/B01C05C1OK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493757690&sr=8-1&keywords=1080p%2B144hz%2Bg%2Bsync&th=1 . Currently using a Asus 1080p 60hz panel, driven by a GTX 1070 and I5 4670k. Max budget is around $350ish give or take.. I have no clue which one I will love more. Will I love the increased Resolution and graphics quality with 1440p, but a much lower refresh rate at 75hz? Or will i love the 144hz experience with G Sync, a more buttery and smooth experience? Not to mention this monitor is apparently overclockable to 180hz, i think this is the best monitor at this price point. I have lived with 60hz for many years now, and i dont really notice or complain.. Never played with a 144hz monitor so i have no clue if i will like the more smoother experience. Yet again i dont know if i will enjoy the 1440p experience more. Games i play, Battlefield 1, Witcher 3, CSGO, Star wars battlefront, Overwatch, Total war warhammer.
  14. A GTX 1070 and I5 4670k will handle 1440P and 75hz ok?
