96Evo got a reaction from Jumper118 in will my Skylake CPU die with DDR3?
well sometimes the trade-off has to be made in order to achieve what we want.
But even though our L1 got reduced, but for gaming and normal use it would be fine, it wont affect anything much.
For some app maybe suffer a lil amount of delay, but I dont think it will be noticable.
dont know if it can be fix by coding it, since i can probably mess thing up. Yeah and I did notice the different between my 2 system L1. BUt normal usage I dont think it will be a problem

I feel like the people know what they doing and stuff will buy the locked while those dont will buy K and then spreading misinformation
People will still recommended K over non-k. Yeah I would get that 6700 instead of K and let me see you kicking in regret.

the m.2 will use the 20x lane available from the chipset and not the cpu so u dont have to worry.
    cpu 16x: 8x gpu, 8x gpu

    I do agree with you

each game are different, some love oc and some dont, Some make you reduce the oc and stuff. HIgh oc doesnt mean it stable at all games, so often times raw performance is much more better and important. Also high oc doesnt mean more performance when compared 390 and 970.970 may oc more but it wont give u a lot of performance, and 390 may oc less doesnt mean you get less performance.

Update 12/17/2015: just a small update, I decided to oc my ram since I dont want to lose any performance, so I oc it to 2880mhz and it is stable and working. It gives 30-40% improvement across the board in term of read, write, copy, and latency. Which is a big jump. So I ended up with 0 trade-off and gain more than losing. The ram I use has no xmp profile and it default speed is 2133.

Just so everyone knows, this is not me asking for suggestion. I just want to show that non-k skylake can be oc and it helps answer thing for those who wondering if they should get K or non-K
There is a trade-off for this oc, and it is reducing the ram freqency. Mine going from 2133 to 1800. It is a small sacrifice so it wont affect anything much.
I'm sure everyone been reading the news couple days ago asrock releases the bios that let you oc. So I done it and test it and it is stable
I'm using an  Asrock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac with the L.54 bios. For those who curious
