Upgrade my CPU for streaming

Su1tch

Hi everyone, sometimes i do streaming on twitch, i don't have any problems with my internet service, but i have an issue when i play some "hardware" intensive games (Battlefield 4, GTA V, etc.) i get a lot of FPS drops, for example: streaming battlefield @ 720p / 30fps i go from 150-130 fps to 75-60 and it starts to freeze (0 fps). (I play BF4 @ low settings)

• i5 3330

• 8gb DDR3 HyperX

• Random $100 MSI motherboard

• 2 HDD, 1 SSD (windows)

• Windows 10 Pro

• EVGA GTX 960 2gb

• Main monitor: Samsung 1080p, second monitor: Samsung 1400x900.

I read a lot of reviews and guides about this and seems to be a CPU problem, i can pay max. $250 USD on a new CPU and Motherboard.

go online Craigslist and look for i7-3770

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

you probably had no issues at all. streaming when using the CPU for encoding benifits from lots of cores, so the 8350 is a good fit. that being said, if he has a mobo for the i3-3330, a 3770 is only a new CPU, making for an easier upgrade

Well its only advantage when streaming is the thread count. Which is where the i5 would be let down a bit depending on the game. Even a Sandybridge i7 however is better for streaming than your FX 8350/9590.

You want more thread's, like people are saying find a 3770, otherwise get a new motherboard and go 4790k or 6700k.
