    Have you actually tried them? I thought I would hate them due to prior experience with some Superlux, but when I put my friends on, they were actually really damn nice. The headphone is so light that it really doesn't make much of an impact.
     
    I'll just compare them entirely for you.
    558 have slightly wider soundstage, and a slightly less rolled off low end. 558 will have more forward mids, and less bright highs.
    9500 pads are hit or miss. I personally hated them, but other people love them. Build quality on the 9500's is a fair bit better.
    Raw sound quality is about the same.

    Services only lists Windows' own services and not all active processes

    Try a different cable?
    It might be the gpu, try downclocking or increasing voltage.

    Ah, I understood that the lag and garbled audio is persistent. In either case, I recommend testing everything possible before you resort to RMA'ing your GPU.

    I've uninstalled the Synapse driver and restarted. Haven't gamed yet but I've been using it on the desktop for 2 hours and haven't noticed a freeze. Will give it another go at a gaming session and then I'll decide.
     
    Edit: Played 2 comp games of Overwatch (about 40 mins overall). Zero freezes so far.
