  1. These two posts can't be posted and distributed enough. You both hit the nail directly on the head and hit it in the wood with one swing.
  2. Halo PC. Had some shitty eMachine with integrated graphics. Had to get my parents to buy some cheap graphics card from Best Buy.
  3. Exactly. We need more "no tolerance" policies from internet companies. Send the message that, no, death threats are inexcusable, even if you "don't mean it." Threatening to kill somebody should not be taken lightly and never used in such an off-handed way. I'm totally with Valve on this one.
  4. It's just a credit to a guy that works on the game and happens to own the company. I really don't understand the whole "praise lord GabeN."
  5. If you're a Halo fan, it is absolutely worth it, though, admittedly, barely. Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4 with all campaigns and, nearly priceless to any Halo fan, Halo 1 and 2 online matchmaking, both as they appear and play as the originals. And that doesn't even include Halo 5 AND 6 (if this bullshit "10 year console" pans out like Microsoft hopes). Anyway, if you run your Xbox at 720 on a 720 screen, it'll run at 720 with no sort of input lag.
  6. We had an AT&T sales person come to the door to get us to switch providers. They told me "This package has 18mbps down over fiber." I asked them out right, why is it only 18mbps when fiber is capable of so much more. And, of course, they gave a round about answer that didn't at all answer the question. ISP's here in the US are so out of control. FCC need to do it's god damned job. They are showing us how stupid they are by falling for the "oh, we (Comcast/TWC) don't compete so it isn't a problem" shit they're pulling. The FCC was created to stop this from happening. Fucking government.
  7. Not only that but whichever store you pre-order at just gets free interest on the money you put down for the game. It isn't worth pre-ordering unless you know it's gonna be limited in numbers.
  8. I haven't played it yet (though I do plan to, hopefully soon) but from what I have read about the game, it seems to me that it's suffering from the "10 year franchise" moniker set up from the beginning. It seems that this first game is really just set up for the inevitable DLC/sequels. It's setting up story, gameplay, characters. It's giving you a taste of what to come in the next 10 years so it spreads itself too thin. It's almost like they're trying to start with the width and breadth of story and gameplay in the first game that took Halo the full 10 years to get to. That said, I would definitely not count it out quite yet. They still have the potential to make Destiny a really good franchise. We know Bungie has the ability to make a full fledged world with awesome gameplay. I'd give it a year or so before counting it out. Though, with this really slow and stale start, there might not be enough people that are kept interested for long enough to get to that point. Of course, that's a somewhat uninformed opinion based on everything I'm hearing without having played the game yet. So take it for the half cent it's worth.
  9. Do I expect it? Unfortunately, no. Will I kick and scream about it? You bet your ass I will. There have been servers up for the last month or so, at least. Unfortunately it's 95% MLG FFA and Coag/Blood Gulch CTF. There isn't much variety right now.
  10. Fairly certain he meant the mother was justified in wanting to get it blocked, not that the 14yo was justified in watching it.
  11. 200mb is pretty good considering most companies make programs that don't even have half the functionality of the launcher for 2-5GB. Could the launcher be smaller than 200MB? Who knows. No one outside of Blizzard can know. Compared to most programs, I'd say 200mb is doing pretty good.
  12. They didn't hardly touch IMDB, ComiXology or Audible, no reason to assume they'll mess with Twitch much. Amazon is pretty good about not totally absorbing and throwing away acquisitions, unlike Google.
