pcman365 reacted to HKZeroFive in 1-1.5K AUD Gaming and Video Editing Build help?
The Corsair VS PSU is not good at all. Highly recommend to go for the Antec HCG 520/M or the XFX TS series instead.
I'd go for this:

pcman365 reacted to DrM in What is the difference between 32bit and 64bit?
32-bit is 2^32, so 64-bit would be 2*2*2*2*2... 64 times. it ends up around 16 billions or so while 32 bit is stuck at 4 million

pcman365 reacted to Matt100HP in Is this too cheap?
£150 with postage included doesn't seem suspiciously cheap from a private eBay seller. However, you can get a brand new Sapphire R9 380 for £155 from Amazon, which seems a considerably safer bet.

Save your money and go used. Get a 7950 so you'll have money to upgrade to a better CPU later on. Until games have lower CPU overhead. CPU really does matter

380X is 10% above a 380 and 25% above a 960
960s are overpriced

Depends where you live and the store you're looking at. I can find at my local shop the 380X $10 more than 380.

pcman365 reacted to Nexxus in New PC FPS Drops
You sure that anything is actually wrong 1st of all? I just played though portal 2 again and would be running i nthe hundreds of fps then randomly hit 40 in a few very small sections for a second or too.
the fact you are running the more demanding games with ease makes me think the games are just being quirky

No, I wouldn't upgrade anything yet.
Wait for intel's and/or AMD's new CPUs and buy a new CPU then, same goes with the GPU.

pcman365 reacted to linuxfan66 in Victoria police want more powers...
http://www.itnews.com.au/news/vic-police-want-to-shoot-gps-trackers-at-fleeing-cars-414804?eid=3&edate=20160209&utm_source=20160209_PM&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=daily_newsletter
now my point i have respect for police. And i take no issue with gps darts for fleeing cars and using already installed onstar style antitheft system for tracking just i have no issue with them having guns to defend themselves and protect others. However granting them more powers when they already have security cameras, helicopters, etc in high risk cases to track stolen cars. I'm not sure thats a good idea. In addition internet connecting breaks, an fuel systems would make for hackers playground to cause havoc... I just want real cops doing real work on the beat and not using technology to avoid taking risks a cop can reasonably be asked to take if they signed up the do persuit driving.
as this comment pointed out:
i dont agree with everything said her but i agree if their police there is risks to take because you signed up within reason(and are properly paid to take it).
anyway too repeat i dont take issue with gps darts. I take issue with enabling remote control for key vehicles systems by default.
