  1. So, I've come into a bit of money through a home sale and I want to keep some relative worth of my gains. I was thinking of buying $10,000 to $20,000 worth of crytocurrency. I was curious as to the legal wranglings of doing this within the US. I understand that the government looks upon it as any other investment and currencies as "stocks", for a simplistic definition. I'm just wondering what moving such quantities of cryptocurrencies will cause given the Patriot Act. Has anyone purchased such large quantities and can anyone enlighten me about the perils and pitfalls of such a venture. Thanks
  2. 3.0 is planned for the end of the year and the updated roughly every 2-3 months:
  3. That was from 2013 and no longer applies. Here: Be sure to note the FPS in the upper right. On Rig: i7-6800K 1080 GTX 6GB 64 GB RAM You will be able to go anywhere on that planet you want. Each planet. In each system. Well, those that aren't gas giants.
  4. There will be a demo likely coming up in November during the Anniversary Sale. Watch the website for notification. Though, once you get in feel free to ask others if you can fly a ship that might not be available to you at the time. Many of us freely loan out ships so that you can get a shot at trying them out. The Free Fly week/weekend will only have a handful of ships.
  5. LOL. That's why you don't go to others who translate from one language to another. You miss out on actual meaning. The delay is going to be documented, like they did the Arena Commander delay, by giving a special write up to chart roadblocks and how/when they surmount them. The demo that was to be showcased at CitizenCon is going to be dropped this year. They are almost done, they just couldn't in time for the show. The first write up is slated for Jan of 2017. CIG stated at NO time, that it woun't be until the end of next year, though one should note that since they didn't give another date, that it could be a possibility. Unconfirmed reports state that it's much closer than many expect. Erin Roberts specifically stated that the rush for getting it ready for the show actually catapulted the whole project forward several months. They could get it out much sooner than the dread has projected. Watch the most recent ATV special edition to see what happened.
  6. It seems even with all the people I know who will never preorder, between friends, Twitchcasters, YouTubers, and game bloggers, are still a infinitely small minority that it matters little. There are more suckers born every minute than people wising up to being cheated.
  7. Just an FYI, even if you delete your game, or go as far as getting a refund, Steam will still register that it was once owned.
  8. Twitch is a great way to find out.
  9. Favorite site for games. Never had a problem for almost two dozen games.
  10. This it totally erroneous. SQ was never meant to be a faithful space sim, it was meant to be a fun military space sim that had as much realism that fun could stand. Fun will trump reality in EVERY case. So only as faithful as fun would allow. The features were added at community request and had to be stopped by CIG lest it get too large. WE requested additional features and wanted greater ambition. WE gave CIG the green light on this. The only thing now that wasn't part of the feature set that WILL be making it in is the seamless planet to space transitions. As for further away, it has had no date since we opted to allow CIG as much time as they needed to get it right somewhere around when we passed $20 million on Sept. 26, 2013 (upon further review, there was never was a release date stated). If you follow game development at all, you know how long a game takes, but someone was nice enough to provide a chart last year June 2015 (hope someone updates it): It's why I keep reminding people, if we follow ESO, SC woun't be out until 2019.
  11. Well there is no "best", just what is best for you. It's like playing D&D, which Fighter is better? Fighter, Ranger, or Paladin. Well each does different jobs in different ways, so there is no best. Anyone saying x, y, or z ship is just responding in their opinion. You really just have to get in them and fly them. I'd be happy to hop in Port Olisar and let you fly any of mine and get a feel. Hit me up at https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/profile/269172/Thylbana Reference LTT as I get some wierdos sometimes. I keep odd hours due to my job, so message me and we can set up a time. If you use Discord we can chat. 12. This is nothing new. As my sig on the site says, "If Star Citizen was given the same time as Elder Scrolls Online, it wouldn't be out until 2019." So you are kind of stating the obvious. It's further along than any game of its ambition, though that is conjecture as no game has been this ambitious. They always just seem to give up before they reach their goal.
  13. Contact me by message on the Star Citizen site: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/citizens/Thylbana and set up a time. I work evenings so I'm on at odd hours. If you send a message we can loaf around Olisar and I'll let you use any of my ships that you want. Don't even worry about REC. Be sure to reference this post from LTT. I get a lot of weirdos. Not the fun Gonzo kind, either. If you have a Discord account, we can chat and I'll answer any questions to the best of my ability. 14. Much like Fallout, likely started right after Skyrim came out, with all engines go after the last DLC dropped. So probably hear of it between 2018 and 2020.
  15. Well, that's currently. Since we don't yet have full implementation of shields and weapons, or ANY implementation of other subsystems like targeting systems, propulsion systems, maneuvering systems, power systems, power plant, jump drive, and other add-ons, you can't say anything about ANY ship. If you trust them enough to give them money years before it will launch, you should have enough trust that they and the community will balance that all out in the end. I've talked with the staff. I KNOW how smart they are. If it's bothering you, it's bothering them. It's one of the reasons I've backed to the levels I have. Any judgement about any ship at this point is spurious at best.
