Hi! I'm Djole123. I love computers, even tho I don't have a particularly good one. I love to speak a ton of jokes and have a laugh.

I live in Serbia, a country that has been shown by Linus a few times, a country in which we love meat (especially the burgers), and a country full of natural habits.

  1. I'm honestly glad they addressed the concerns and some of the pitfalls they fell into, I hope the week that they'll take off will imply some changes and quality improvements. However, this apology video was unnecessarily cheesy. Why the LTT Store plug and why the cringey sponsor remarks??? I realize this is an edutainment channel, I've been watching LTT for almost a decade at this point, but I expected a bit more of a professional response, honestly. But I hope everything they said in the video was in good faith and will actually be better going forward. IMO, they've shown they can make extremely high quality content when on an cooler schedule, with the best example being Mac Address, which is personally my favorite of the LMG channels.
  2. Can't wait for the 7000 threads to pop up in the next hour asking if the channel got hacked rofl
  3. On August 1, 2012, Microsoft released the infamous Windows 8 to manufacturing. It promised to usher in the new era of computing, doing away with the Start menu and button, and instead attempting to push in Metro as the new paradigm shift, with its flat design and touch optimizations. Even though many initial complaints were remedied in the subsequent 8.1 release and its additional updates, the product, in the end, had very modest success - in its peak in July 2015, right before the release of Windows 10, Windows 8.1 had a total market share of 13% with 8.0 being at just shy of 3%, a far cry from the market share Windows 7 had at the time, which was sitting steadily at over 60%. Microsoft was betting hard on the touch interface, after all, in 2012, the iPad was on the market for about two years, and Android tablets were catching some steam too. Windows RT was released alongside Windows 8 to push ARM to the masses, although it left a lot to be desired with its many limitations, the main one being the lack of any desktop app support (aside from a few first party apps such as Microsoft Office 2013). This sudden push to unfamiliarity could be the cause of the ultimate commercial failure of Windows 8/8.1, and Microsoft backtracked on it in Windows 10 in 2015. But was it really a complete misstep for Windows or Microsoft in general, a wrong bet or a future we were not fully ready yet for? How did you feel about Windows 8 when it first came out? Did you jump in on the shiny new touch interface wagon? What do you think about it now, a decade after its release?
  4. Even if you can't wait for Ryzen 6000 laptops to reach mass market, I'd still go with the RTX 3070 Omen for your use case. The 5800H is still plenty fast for your CPU based workloads, and I don't believe the 3070 will be thermally challenged
  5. Have you checked if it's perhaps not the integrated graphics that are making the Plex server struggle (just check the CPU and GPU usage when playing high bitrate 4K)? 3700X seems like a bit overkill for it, but if you want to run more VMs in the future it might be a decent option.
  6. Summary Microsoft published informtation about Windows 10 consumer edition lifecycles, and the retirement date was set for October 2025, fueling rumors about the next release of Windows. Quotes My thoughts Short news - but very sweet. This could have big implications on the whole Windows as a Service policy. Microsoft did say that Windows 10 is set to be "the last version of Windows", but it seems like, either because of the pressure from OEMs, or the sheer confusion about what Windows 10 is (remember, there are now TWELVE different releases of Windows 10, from 1507 to 21H2), they had to change things in some way. It's very interesting to see how this plays out in the future. 7. With the all new flagship Snapdragon 888 launched, we are expecting many new phones to launch next year, however the first one is set to be announced this year, on December 28th. The Xiaomi Mi 11 is tipped to be visually similar to its predecessor, the Mi 10, however with a camera rearrangement and updated internals it's set to be a proper 2021 flagship. Along with the SoC upgrades, we can also expect a battery and refresh rate bump. As of now, the launch is China-exclusive, however history tells us we can expect a global variant in the coming months aswell. 8. (It's actually a 40GB drive ) Although you said it has no bad sectors, I personally wouldn't trust a Maxtor hard drive, especially not one that's just about to celebrate its 16th birthday. You could keep it as a collector's item, or perhaps find an IDE to SATA adapter and perhaps use it for less important data.
  9. Try enabling noise suppression in Windows. Go to your Control panel, then type in sound in the search bar, and click on the Sound category. From there, go to the Recording tab, click on your active microphone, and choose Properties. Then, go to Enhancements, and choose Noise supression. If you don't have this tab, install the Realtek Audio drivers (even if you have them), by going to your motheboard's support website and finding the appropriate driver.
  10. Edit: I just now realise the insignificance of the issue. It'll probably only affect like 3% of the Ryzen userbase. I should probably stop reading Wccftech.
  11. A slide from an internal AMD engineering team has surfaced courtesy of Igor's Lab showing that Renoir mobile CPUs may have a PCIe bandwith limit of just 4-8x, leaving a tight spot for GPUs like the RTX 2060S and higher. Although there still is enough headroom for mid tier GPUs, it is still a shame that it's stripped down when compared to desktop and Intel equivalents. Power users may still have to wait for either next gen Ryzens or just settle for an Intel CPU, albeit at a significant cost. 12. So, as you know, Intel is trying to finally get in to the competitive GPU market, and they're going to give it a shot with the Intel Xe GPU platform. Raja Koduri has teased the new GPU as the "baap of all", which gives us hope that this new GPU is going to be a monster in power. But now, we finally get to see the new beast, and it looks just as beastly as we hoped: Being 3696mm^2 in size, we expect the new GPUs to be absolute powerhouses, just like the Xeon Phi chips it will superceed. What do you guys think of this? Source: https://wccftech.com/intels-father-of-all-xe-hp-gpu-pictured-massive-3696-mm-package/
  13. A good short term option would be to get yourself an AIO water cooler and overclock the 8350 as much as you can. You can also try to OC the GPU. A long term option would be to swap the AM3+ platform and get the AM4 Ryzen MoBo, CPU and DDR4 RAM. Perhaps a Ryzen 3 could do the trick for you.
  14. This is a massive red flag to me. Have you tried swapping the power supplies?
  15. Location, budget? P.S. I honestly think it would be more economically (and in general) viable for you to just buy a gaming laptop and a separate, inexpensive device for Office and web browsing. You wouldn't get any of the performance losses caused by having to feed video back to the internal display, and cheaper machines have chips with such low TDP that it should even last a full working day.
