If I were to abandon the Mac in favor of a laptop with way better value, what would be the best 13" and 15" laptops you would recommend? (No MateBooks)

 

The goal for both sizes would be battery life and portability

    Hahahaha, Well if you like sleek and functional the Surface Pros are good. Now if you are just wanting absolute best value then there are a slew of options out there. What are you wanting to do with it?If you aren't gaming the 2019 dell XPS 15 is beautiful.

    Stay away from the Surface. I'd recommend getting a Lenovo Yoga or Thinkpad with a clean install or Dell XPS lines.

    From Microsoft, Surface Book. From anybody else, Dell XPS 13", or Lenovo Yoga come to mind immediately.

    Ask @Den-Fi, I think aside from his MacBook Pro he also has other laptops that have good battery life. 

     

    He also thinks that the Surface Book’s hinge is caca.

    For these 13" laptops, what really hurts a Windows based one is that most of them don't seem to opt for the Iris graphics options and give you UHD trash.
