I have said good bye to Netflix. Ended my account. I was offended by Gay Jesus, and almost did it then but I was working so much it slipped my mind and I kinda forgot about it [no excuse]. Now with the release of Cuties [a child pornographic sponsored by Netflix] I am  beyond disgusted. I can find my entertainment else where, I will not support a company that supports this garbage.

    Did you bother looking into the backstory behind it, or just went with the face value media reaction?

    Did my own research, Besides what was reported or said they allowed it on their platform. There is no excuse for not validating the content before allowing it.

    Quote from 2 critics:

    Quote

    They expose the breast of an 11 year old child.
    The crotch shots, sex simulation are things you’d see in a raunchy strip club and to see young children doing this, adults having young children doing this crushes my heart and mind.

    Quote

    The clip has already been spread across social media, out of context, for any sicko to watch. This is the problem. It’s not the movie. It’s not the message. It’s the fact that the director put young girls in provocative clothing, taught 11 years olds to dance and act inappropriately and filmed it. She could have easily told the story without it.

    Statement from Netflix;

    Quote

    Cuties’ is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement.

    There is no defending this. This movie is not a social commentary when you purposefully include this kind of content.

    That director ought to be thoroughly ashamed of herself and the parents that allowed the children to used should be scrutinized.

    I wont watch it myself I have 4 young daughters. And even if I didnt I still would not expose myself such distasteful and unacceptable content.

    Sad to say I watched it: the sheer gulf between the pro- and anti- crowd was so huge and I wouldn't think child porn would be the hill anyone would die on.

    Anywho:

    1) There is zero nudity aside from one breast, which I imagine belongs to someone of legal age.  Beyond that, there's nothing skin-wise that you wouldn't see at the beach (though they are really young to be dressing the way they dress)
    2) There are three scenes which depict dancing as raunchy as you'll find in any music video.  No rational human would film that thinking they're making a movie against the sexualization of children.  Nobody would watch those scenes and think they're watching a movie against the sexualization of children.
    3) The film isn't really against sexualization of children...it kinda glorifies it.  It's against going nuts and being a horrible human while going through the journey of being sexualized.

    So yeah.  Burn it in the lake of fire.

     I don't know what I missed but it sounds like garbage.

    and as for "cuties" I was hesitant to burn it at the stake because I heard it was condemning such behavior, but from what I've heard since then I say burn it down, if you want to condemn something don't do it yourself.

    Didn't hear about the gay Jesus thing, but I wouldn't end an account because of a movie about that.

    But Cuties? Yeah, it's bad. If you want to have an idea about it without watching it, check out this 'review' ;
