Priortox reacted to Jurrunio in What is the difference between the gtx 980 and 1070 and which should I buy as a long term card with future proofing SLI
SLI is a bad way for future proofing. If you ever feel your GPU gets too slow for the games, just sell it and get a single faster card.

If it's 1080p 60Hz screen, a 1060 3gb at about $200 is enough (not the 6gb, not worth $60 extra). Dont worry about 3GB VRAM too much. It seems to handle games that use 4GB VRAM quite well with minimal frame drops here and there.

If you want more than 1080p 60fps then a gtx 980ti. It's around $250~280, with GTX 1070 performance.

Priortox reacted to Light-Yagami in 3200mhz and 3600mhz, what is the difference?
To put it simple: Nothing above 2666 mhz makes a noticable difference at this point in time. It will in the future. I have a 3000mhz kit. There wouldn't be any noticable difference if I had a faster memory.. Take whats cheaper.

3000/3200 is the sweetspot for Sky/Kaby, that's why. You may not be able to push 3600 with the memory controller.

Priortox reacted to DarkBlade2117 in Why I should buy a 1060 over a 1070 (reference card)
Difference from 6500-6600k wouldn't be worth it. Do some test streams and mess with OBS settings. Some games you might have to stream 30FPS, others will be fine at 60 such as Rocket League, CS:GO, LoL, ect ect. If you don't like your streaming FPS or rendering times, make an effort to go for a 6700/k

it'll be fine the protocols are all supported for media keys etc these days. The board was release back in  about 2014 I think so it's just not an updated product page.

Yes, I am saying stick with the i5-6500. I could stream most games on my i3-6100 720p30FPS or 60FPS, the games I couldn't were just slightly stuttery and the i5 should get rid of that. I also mentioned, if you are rendering videos and don't like the times of the i5-6500, then don't worry about a 6600k, aim for a 6700/k
