Thanks both of you. I dug up a 4 year old screenshot of my previous settings, and it indeed turns out that my timings were different than they are now. @boggy77that guide is very helpful in making sure I am on the right track. Currently I have it running at 2933 MHz again, 15% coverage through memtest so far, fingers crossed. Before, it wouldn't even pass post with 2933MHz, so I'm optimistic! Only issue is that I cannot use the "Fast" preset for DRAM Calculator. A window pops up saying "Error: Coming soon!" Either way, I think my infinity fabric is happier, so I'll run some benchmarks soon

Well you've definitely got a good idea of what to look for. Ryzen 4000 is the clear choice as it's far more powerful and efficient than anything else in laptops.

Sadly, I don't think there's an option for that.

All I'm trying to do is set my DNS to cloudflare's 1.1.1.1, and I can't even find the setting after going through every menu twice. It should be here, but it's not? I scoured the internet for an hour with no results at all. (also whatever if it's an internal IP and that censor doesn't do anything :P)

Linus_is_a_Badass got a reaction from carl hopkins. in I honestly can't tell if I've been hacked
So I got this email 5 days ago and saw it in my spam today. It's sketchy as all hell because it was apparently sent from my own account to me. I blurred that out of course, but what is really scary is that if I hover over the "from:" part, it links back to my google profile. Suffice to say, it's technically from myself. I heard of some way to spoof it without actually having access to my account, but I don't really know if that's the same thing. Whoever sent it has at least decent grammar and plays the hacker role painfully well. "I hope I taught you a good lesson. Do not be so nonchalant, please visit only to proven resources, and don't enter your passwords anywhere!" I'm of course not going to send money to the btc account because the "2 day window" is up and who's to say it's real and who's to say I'm safe if I do it. While none of the stuff he said is necessarily a red flag to be a spoof, it is fairly specific, I feel as if it should be a good bit more specific than that. Also, not to say that this means that it would be a spoof, there is no way he has saved everything off my computer, there are terabytes of data that would have easily passed my data limit, not to mention that I see no large use of data in Windows' data usage logger. This may be a coincidence, but a roommate got his newegg account hacked and purchases were made on it a couple days after. The password was pretty impenetrable. This is a bit out of place, but my primary computer has no camera and he mentions nowhere a phone. If anyone could explain how this is even possible, I would appreciate it. Also, I don't think I was phished (but who knows for sure). Also,  yeah I know, this post is a total train wreck

Yeah six is a lot. You have to have a lot to lose if you want to spend that long logging in IMO

Most games should just take the resolution without issue unless we're going much older like pre-DX9.

Get a 1060 3 or 6GB and an ultrawide 1080@100Hz. This will take full advantage of the 1060's core (especially for the 6GB) while giving you better gaming vs a resolution bump.

Not at all. Even i3's and Pentiums can get the most out of the 1060.

If you are going to get a graphics card, get the Ryzen 3 1200. If you are not going to get a graphics card, the A12 9800 would be fine, although, a G4560 with a GTX 1050 is probably not much more expensive

The Ryzen 3 1200 is a much better CPU though.

Don't forget the cost of a b350/A320 mobo and new ddr4 RAM, I would get a 1200 though no competition.

It answers it reasonably enough, it wasn't a practicality debate at all.  I know the value is shit on lower end cards because it's not really much cheaper to make them.  Appreciate the answers fellow Keyboard Warriors™.

is it better than intel integrated graphics? yes but honestly i would never buy it as it is not worth the cost at all. get a gtx 1050 minimum if you are buying a new gpu.
