For me it does not scale correctly only if the game I am playing is not at the correct resolution. If all else fails try to reinstall steam.

There are bots that you can buy that are bigger than the normal mothership and once you buy them it unlocks everything, they might have fixed this at some point but perhaps not.

If you get hardware that is at least somewhat good with recent games you will want watercooling but if you have for example an i3 processor then it will not be necessary, most of the time it is worth it.
