And consider that they are already developing the Pascal, the new PCIE standard/Gen would have to be already in place for them to develop it that way. Also by releasing something to a brand new unknown standard their selling audience would by tiny and no one would have the tech (maybe the earliest adopters if it was released just prior to pascals launch).
Generally speaking you will see the new standard well before cards are released which require it

Yep, if you already have ssd with os on it, if what was said above doesent work. go into disk management and right click and press create new volume (i think) and follow the instructions.

if you plug in the HDD it should show up in "my computer" and you can just right click and format

If you want to remove everything, back up important files to portabel hdd and then connect both drives that you want to format and put in windows disk/usb then format all drives and clean install windows, drives will be formatted and you will have windows again

If you just plug it in while your PC is on, it should show all the files that were still in your HDD. If you plug it in and turn on your PC, Windows may think the drive is faulty or some shit and mess up everything. Best way is still to format, then plug it in.
