Jokrik got a reaction from Kick in Project Blank
Updates! I received the motherboard block, and the custom charged me 40$ for it which is suck Took me quite a while to take off the ROG led, one of the screw was dull and I've tried tons of ways to unscrew it I dont think I'm going to use the VRAM block for a couple of reason 1. I like the heat pipe on stock VRAM 2. I dont think the VRAM creates tons of heat when I tested it, the heat was more on the southbridge since its located near the GPU's 3. I'm not ready to modify the stock VRAM heatsink, I can easily cut the pipe but... In the other hand I realised that I have a problem with the AC backplate, its too thick thus it clashed with the ram clip ; the GPU won't go through all the way in to the pci-e slot after asking around actually there are also people who's having the same problem and one way to solve it is to cut the backplate so its Dremel time, took me a while to cut the backplate since it's pretty thick sorry for the crap picture on this one, I think I hit the tripod at slow shutter
After more polishing, filing and touch up Job done! I've also painted the temp panel to black, the panel is made of thin aluminium and where it's gonna be placed the build is nearly there, I've a final order from frozen which will come in a week or two in the mean time I might work on the tubing

well, AIO watercooling is a start
brace yourself for water cooling addiction, the G10 looks good though
and its such a revolution in water cooling
Thx man! good to see fellow keyboard maniac!
made mine too unfortunately
Thx and stay tuned!
Yeah I realised that when reading around
but again the price of evo is at 70% of 840 when I bought it (in my country)
raid 0 is for prestige anyway but I can feel the difference with the new rig, might have because of the 6 cores (or raid 0)

You know me so well! haha
I dont think I'm getting another green man, since I have my trigger in green and I've converted my Filco to green
I've found my most suitable switch already which is 62g/67g blue switch
its so crisp and it has to be double shot ABS from GMK, now I know what they call typegasm
Btw ,
So happy! but I'm not a big fan of the engraved caps since somehow I still need to look at the letters once in a while and its pretty hard to see without the LED on
and that no-rubber on the adjustable angled feet is driving me crazy, I have a glass table and it slides around
but man this white switch has softy padded click
totally different from that crisp click I'm used to, loving both!

So as I've said, there will be consistent update from now on. And today I decided to start on dressing the GPU's and radiators So I tested the fans, it seems that the fan port splitter doesn't work if downvolted to 7v, I have to get a handmade fan port splitter in this case. What bothers me is that its pretty hard to get a black pcb fan splitter and I wont stop until I get one. An all dark color build have to be all dark and test fit the rad
Still cant test fit the 480 rad due to the length of the screws which is a tiny bit too short . The shortage is due to Caselabs drop mount system which resulted in an alu plate run in between fans and radiators moving on... Let the undressing begun
I was stuck with the unscrewing part since the guide from AC is so minimal, for those of you who are taking the stock cooler of 290's Make sure you check the two screws near the ports, it's the two screws on the left (see picture)
And she's naked!
It's time to clean her
The indigo cleaner really does make a difference for easy TIM cleaning, you can see my hand reflection. And no, I did not edit the photo It's pure sensor camera play with good lighting and Indigo cleaner
I was planning to use CLU on the GPU, but seeing how compliated the PCB on AMD GPUs compare to NVIDIA I decided to only use my trusty ICdiamond, and MX-4 on the RAM module This is the Active XCS Backplate I was talking about, the backplate is aluminium . Love how solid it feels Had to take off the stock terminal and replace it with the one included in the backplate. It has heat sink build into it And applied some TIM on it DONE! -

Hello again everyone, firstly
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I know its been a while since I've fully updated the log, but finally most of the wait has finally over
90% of the goods are here, and I can finally play and tune around the build as I wish
Lets get to the pictures, pardon me with the bad photos. I'm trying my best to take good pictures but since I have most of the house under renovation I have to move to a smaller working space with bad lighting
It's best to take pictures with daylight but I will be spending most of my time from morning til dawn in the office
I've tested the motherboard, CPU and GPU's with an open test bench with raid 0 ssd's
some people might say you can't tell the difference unless you are benchmarking and I might have the false alarm but
moving from 4 cores to 6 cores I can tell the difference especially with raid 0
I might be wrong
After some testing I cleaned the CPU TIM and leave it as it is
Was planning to put the CPU block on but I want to wait for the Motherboard block to come which will come either tomorrow or the day after
I will be using CLU on all the blocks , yeah I know it's a lot of risk especially on the gpu since CLU can transfer electric current from the board
but no pain, no gain
the 290's are running pretty hot even on the open test bench
I've also replaced my phoebus with an STX, tested it and man I can tell you; an stx can beat phoebus any day
if you have a 7.1 setup than go for phoebus
but for someone like me who enjoy music more, go for STX
I have an AUNE T1 on hand and once I've assembled everything I'll compare the STX with AUNE (am using Shure SH1440 and BD DT880 250ohm for test)
I've received my monsoon bending kit before the new year but I was too busy packing for the short holiday and didn't get the chance to post it here
again, nice packaging by PPCS
And guess what I got today!
This is as much packages I've ever received in a day!
The custom has been slacking during the holiday and told me they didn't want to release all the packages one by one, and I got 120$ of custom duty which is not as bad as I thought
It's a mixture of ummm.... Keyboard stuff...... (again) and some of the stuff for this log
Ordered the active cooling backplate from Aquacomputer straight
The GPU block has also arrived, I was so lucky I get 2 out of 5 stock from frozencpu
I can tell you, you wont go wrong with AC stuff. Quality wise ...
At first I thought there are some flaws in the block as you can see from the last photo, but I've realized its a carving of Hawaii islands inside the block it self :thumb:
Last box for this log came from the sleeving guy!
This is the box I've anticipated the most, it has all the goodies for the build
sleeving wise, it's looking really good
I'm too tired from the holiday and will take proper pictures tomorrow and assembled other stuff including the GPU blocks
so, until tomorrow fellas!

I'm bored The cables are still in sleeving process, the GPU block is a nightmare to get thankfully there's a hint of light on this from FrozenCPU The motherboard block is still in production I hope I don't lose the spark for this build due to immense length of waiting time so without further ado, today I've change the O-ring on the fittings to black what a progress  and I've been entertaining myself with a new keyboard limited ducky yellow edition with MX white when will it end....

Firstly, cleaning up the old blocks and radiators is HELL if you use colored coolant I've spent most of the weeks when I could work on the project for cleaning and radiator painting This is what I get when I opened up all the used blocks I have to soak the acrylic and fittings in detergent water, the fittings look 90% new but the acrylic cover for the blocks has not much luck though its still acceptable and this is the result of applying CLU paste right to the block with the EK naked mount thing for delided IVY and some corrosion appeared after some water wash, its my fault I didn't rinse it with DI water straight away but with copper polish, I got most of the shine back but not the CLU part Anyway for the log progress, I am really not satisfied with the result of the paint on the radiators seems like I bought the wrong spray and ended up with a textured, easy to get scratch, non even color even after priming and 3 layers of paint (with light sanding in between), the can has also been shaken for 15 minutes before use and soak in warm water so I've bought another paint brand and just finished sanding it up before I hit them with more paint tomorrow I will also repaint the pump mount bracket since it came in steel color Bought a whole box of DI water for rinsing and the loop Mixed it with vinegar to wash the radiator This whole radiator cleaning process took me around 3 days of continues rinsing and shaking (5-8 times a day) for the water to run out clear even let DI water to sit in the radiator for each of the 3 nights and it still run colored on the 3rd day It will be DI water for life from now on Put all the stock coolers on and this will be my setup until I get this project done Love the beefy stock coolers though I will be selling one of the card since I dont need that much power in this other setup And this came in yesterday I've been test fitting everything especially the cables today, want everything to be perfect The measuring and layout of cables took a while to be figured, its all for perfection hope its worth it I will be sending my cables to a good friend of mine who do sleeving for life, I am terrible with sleeving and I dont want to ruin the build so pardon me That's all for now folks

Mini update! The caselabs mounting bar has arrived, including the forgotten PSU plate cover their customer support is one of the best I've encountered test fitting and thats where I'll probably mount the pump on another note, the radiator is done! very satisfied with the new spray paint, though its cheaper then the one which failed me; it got the job done Love when everything goes as planned

with all the pressure I get, I really need a good amount of hobbies, boys toys and workout to keep it level
pc and keyboards are just some of my getaway from all the stress, I have to travel every week to different cities so updates can only be on the weekend
