  1. there are nvm m.2 and then there the older m.2 with that adaptor to sata (data) plugs in to a sata port on the mb. there probably an ssd pcie with sata data ill look for that too. https://www.amazon.ca/Express-Adapter-Circuit-connector-included/dp/B01452SP1O/ref=sr_1_128?crid=2NS02H6AX1WK7&keywords=pcie+ssd&qid=1695151846&sprefix=pcie+ssd%2Caps%2C251&sr=8-128&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.b06bdbbe-20fd-4ebc-88cf-fa04f1ca0da8 https://www.amazon.ca/Adapter-Converter-Reader-Performance-Bridge/dp/B0BK1FV4BS/ref=sr_1_272?crid=2NS02H6AX1WK7&keywords=pcie+ssd&qid=1695152265&sprefix=pcie+ssd%2Caps%2C251&sr=8-272
  2. why? if it has pcie it sould work. all sata as far as i no is backward compatible just at lower speed... there also usb 3.0 to ssd.
  3. i mean the blue screen tell you and error and can tell you what the problem is so a pic of it would be helpful. did you swap psu?
  4. the m.2 runs off sata so it basically an expensive ssd but m.2 ruing at sata speeds... thow there might be some cash benefit thow...
  5. ya there are pcie ssd and m.2 that dont need external sata power. fans can run off usb i would think depends on fan and how many. https://www.amazon.ca/GINTOOYUN-Controller-Dissipation-Mainframes-Motherboards/dp/B09CYX2TJN/ref=sr_1_104?crid=2NS02H6AX1WK7&keywords=pcie+ssd&qid=1695150911&sprefix=pcie+ssd%2Caps%2C251&sr=8-104 https://www.amazon.ca/GLOTRENDS-SFF-8639-Adapter-Desktop-Installation/dp/B099185SSV/ref=sr_1_114?crid=2NS02H6AX1WK7&keywords=pcie+ssd&qid=1695150936&sprefix=pcie+ssd%2Caps%2C251&sr=8-114
  6. there are pcie sata slot ssd/m.2 but for gpu power you probly would have to only use what the slot can give normaly 75w and under... uness you can add another psu in the case? or a power brick or somthing... still would not be recomed for gpu power.
  7. i like value so i buy the big no name brand chips i can find. same with icream i buy the 4l. there are times it better to buy a little better like walmart producs and meat is hit and miss. but really if you want to best is to shop at walmart and costco. but all place have deals and you have to shop all place to find the deals... witch = time and gas... bulk buying if you can afford to also save moeny and thing with points and a visa with moenyback or points or something. but also probly making food vs buying pre made food can get you better quaity food and cheap. to a point were you might not need a snack after. i myself started eating only one meal a day but i snake of chips mostly and my limit is about $5-$6 a day for food. dont think im losing whate yet but i dont feel hungy ether so its works for me. thow on my days off i snack and eat lunch or brunch some times too i stock shelves so i do labor and i guess at time a feel a little less energy do to not eating but w/e they wont pay me more anyway so w/e.90% of people dont work as hard as i do. imo i dont drank coffee so for me i dont get the 12:00 crash. it can boost energy when it kicks in but then you crash... i do get tierd on the bus thoe after work. im 511 and about 200 pounds should probably be like 170ish i think... packaging has be getting smaller since forever or the price incress or both some times. you do get more in the us vs canada thats jsut the way it is...
  8. alot of people that can afford it already mod there consoles or buy new ones... emulation is just cheaper. your still buying games that support xbox or Nintendo or w/e but you play it your way. buying an nes no moeny goes to Nintendo. in fact they dont want you to buy a nes and pay for online instead.
  9. filing makes sharp edges smooth so... but i get it haha just to clear that up. but the cable looks good as is imo. oh dose it have feet? looks like there not there in the pic? that would be a problem... im guessing taking off to fit on the spiny thing.
  10. i dint say the 771 would not work on some mb with a different os. it probably can. but you need like a last gen mb for it to work with out bios mods. ya there are way better cpus for a different os but people only use 771 for 98 for the cash and 939 cpus cost too much. there no point using it for anything els other then because i can witch is in your case. 771 cpu mb support the gole with the build was what the fasted 98se i could make and this was an attempt at it. but failed. a well tuned p3 could probably have a better score then this build.(and i find out there even faster build then what i got like a 7800 working in 98se... i dont no how to mod bios so this is best i could do. pcie and 98se is not really documented and people that no dont ever say it can work or not or what mbs work or not.
  11. what dose the blue screen say... there could be anything that causing it... but ied say backup w/e you can b4 you cant... it can be costly to try and trobble shoot. with an old system it might just be build something new imo trouble shooting can mean buying a bunch of parts to test and find what part it is... can be something small or not... more info about what i had happen to me. back when i had a p4 i got alot of blue screens and it was a psu that was the problem another time my ram for w/e reason would cuas artifact and at that time i new i had to attempt a back up. lucky i did and soon after it would not boot. but i had to downclock it and worked fine... but i did have to format thow. if you want do the free stuff like format, if you can swap parts with another pc.
  12. i got a ps3 ($750) just for lbp...and i guess blueray thow i would not used it for that now adays... the "friends" didn't come around to play.. too busy drakining...
  13. there all ready problem with the new xbox and cant switch out the m.2nvme ether... thats the problem with new stuff is it built like ShXT. my new wii i barely used it and had to replace the cd drive in it once already. the backwards compatible ps3 well i watch a full hour long documentary on it and basically the cpu/gpu chip solder over time from heat and cooling brakes it. so they have to buy other ps3 and swap it witch all cost moeny... like $1000+... we all no the red ring with 360 ya might be fixed with the slim but there still the problem of them not being made any more and price will keep going up. so if you cant buy a system then your forced to emulate anyway. plus when you buy any thing not sold by the oem they dont get a cut any more. and maybe they may sell it on an eshop or they may not and thows eshops do go away too. that is the big argument atm is they buy something that they cant use later on... witch all leads to hacking and modding anyway... for pcs you can build a some what cheap pc to play old stuff thow thow price are increasing. gone are the $10 mb....
  14. i also think servers have changed from when we thing of them in a 1u rack. now there like min itx, long and they do one thing. one dose just ram, one dose just cpu, one dose just gpu, i also belave they dont use 120mm fans anymore and probly just ac the room or use bigger cheaper 48v fans. or water cooling. the servers that do use that old stuff is well old used stuff i would think. i could be wrong thow. think of it like an asic miner .
  15. the lockpicking lawyer is he dose not post anything that is good... and he dose have skills... if some one wants in they will get in...
  16. dont think you like using tool or soldering so... could use a metal file you can buy pre pin cables and add the connector on affter cut the wires and use a solder less connector there is a depining tool but they kinda can make the cable more loses imo
  17. you can stick it in a case and use pcie extensions. but it would be a bunch of diy thow... drilling stand offs, mounting the gpu mount, figering out the pinout of the power switch and so on. might also need to buy a psu adapter... imo not worth it just buy something els.
  18. im building a setup in a rack but sould have gotten a bigger one... still work in progress. also have a tv pc to. just orderd an sd2snes. but also got link to the past, and mario 64 in the mail. i have all the controllers and all the usb adapters too so i can do any combo i want any controller on any system. i did buy keystone jackes that i was going to cut in to the side to pass cables thow and also got controller extensions i was going to add to the side but i mean you can get really good wireless controller these days. like i got 2 8bitdo snes controllers and there nice. didn't like the switch pro controller i got a tesmart 8 hdmi rack mount switch. it audo switch when a system turns on. i should have gotten the 16 port thow. my original plan was to emulate up to n64 and buy everything els as switch games cost alot.. but now i might do the ever drive thing but i go back and forth on what to do... so many thigs and not enough moeny... i just spent $120 for an orange wii controller and another $65 for orange switch shell... for the audio i just ran a 30 foot 3.5mm to a moukey mamx3 and split it to go to my bed as i use wired headphones at night. but my bt headphones alos works too. it another part of hooking everything up and well i want 4pc to my monitors at some point still a work in progress...
  19. i dont think the xbox can play older games? unless they re make em on a eshop? but there no reason to own an xbox anyway when you can play all the new stuff on pc so... ya its cheaper then a pc but you can do so much more with it... emulators are better then what any consols can put out even if you emulate the xbox.
  20. i just spent $120 for an orange wii controller... i have problems...
  21. ya i dont no much about bearings just glad i dont have the crap ones that would leak and you have to put oil in them every like 2 moths... i have some "300,000" hour fans that be quiet clames... but most are between like 30,000 and 50,000 and like 100,00 for good ones. but i would look at warranty first. looks like 6 years is the best. that one improvement that most fans last long enough.
