Sometimes weird things like to happen on what we assume to be perfectly fine. Good to see it worked & lets hope it doesn't go crazy again. I had a first gen ssd that liked to do that.

I have the razer tiamat 7.1 with 5 drivers in each ear and I find them amazing. I can tell exactly where a person is if i play for an example bf3. I think that they are waaay better then my old headset with viritual surround :) and i think the sound is much better, bu thats just my opinion :)

The headset isn't really good enough to notice the difference.

Any sound card generally should be better than onboard.

For the amount of money you will be spending on a "gaming" headset, you can buy a real pair of headphones and mic to achieve higher quality sound. I'd recommend looking at Sennheiser or Audio-Technica and picking up a ModMic.

I myself use a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-AD900X along with a Modmic and after using and tried many gaming marketed accessories (Logitech, Razer, Turtle Beach, etc) and traditional headphones and stand-alone mic and won't fall prey to the "gamer" marketing I did years ago.

OH NO DON'T! Linus has said it multiple times in multiple videos, having multiple speakers in a headphone is ridiculous because you only have 2 ears and at that range, it will not make a difference. Plus, you are also sacrificing driver size means the sound quality will be very bad. Since your price is around the Z6A, get Sennheiser HD 439 and the mod mic or get a Logitech Desktop Microphone. Sennheiser HD 439 can also be used for mobile so it would be a better option. Plus I have no clue why Z6A needs USB power, its not needed at all. If you want to buy gaming products, I would not recommend Turtle Beach.

If you really want to get gaming headphones and want surround sound, Logitech G430. It as a 7.1 virtual surround sound USB card and are very comfortable.

Hmm... Maybe Sennheiser HD 800s with a mod mic attachment?

Or you could just get some HD 558s with the mod mic as well. Don't forget to add a sound card

the best headset is a stax sr009 with a blue Hawaii amp and a mod mic
but that will run you ~$10,030.

the best around $200, imo is sennheiser hd598 and a mod mic or vocal mic.

I'm rocking the Corsair Vengeance 2000. Best headset I've ever owned and wireless is where it's at.

I personally own a logitech g930 and while it is ok, next time I would not fall for the "gaming headset" and get good set of sennheiser headphones
and a separate mic. That way you get the best sound with a mic that can come off / detach for the best of both worlds.  Combined however, this may cost more but the quality would be infinity better than what i experienced with the g930.  This was my experience anyways.

    I wouldn't bother the 770 is just a re-branded 680 with a 50$ price cut, the 7970 is still faster & has more RAM.

7970 unless you need PhysX or CUDA.  The 700 series cards supposedly launch on 5/23 so you could possibly get a renamed GTX 680 as a 770 if you wait until then...

Wait for the 700 series cards, see how they stack up with the current AMD cards, then make your decision. But if you're in a hurry, I would say 7950.

The 7950 has the best price to performance ratio. I would go with that or wait for the 700 series which should be coming out pretty soon
