i know financially it is scary, but in the long run it is definitely best to do something that you will enjoy doing. if you love working with electronics (pcb as you mention in your post), then i think that is worth pursuing. talk to an advisor at the school you are going to attend, they may be able to point you to a program at the school that can scratch both itches

formatted all of my drives and freshly installed windows 10 pro and it fixed the problem

have been playing mw2 the past couple of months. so incredibly unbalanced but yet an amazingly good, addicting game. how is it possible???

i was going to save this for last resort, but i may do this anyway. it was running really strangely last night, driver installs would hang, couldnt close task manager etc. plus it will be nice to start fresh

last night i swapped some components in my pc: new MSI z390 carbon pro ac mobo, i9 9900kf, and 16gb corsair vengeance 3000mhz. when i shut down my pc, windows will shut down and leave me on a black screen, but the computer itself stays on. led lights still on, fans still spinning etc. has anybody run into this before? it was late so i called it a night but when i get home from work tonight i am going to try installing all drivers, updating mobo bios via flash, and possibly a fresh install of windows if those dont work. anybody else ever run into something like this??

i really like gears 5. gears 3 was the last one i played. i really liked the story in 5 (although there were a couple missteps in my opinion) and the multiplayer is really fun. just tight gears mp gameplay like it has always been. i recommend if you are a gears fan

In fortnite for example while on the spawn island it will dip down randomly to like 60-70 fps, same thing in a crowded area like tilted towers, 60-70 fps range.

Hello, Just picked up the card in title from eBay. I am experiencing GPU usage in the range of 40-50% in almost every game I play. Playing at 1080p resolution with a 144hz refresh rate. cpu usage is around 40-50 in most games and ram usage is never maxes. Games I have most recently played are DOOM 2016 and Fortnite. The low usages cause me to drop frames when in intense situations, going into tilted towers in fortnite for example. while playing doom, i used dsr to run at 4k and the usage did shoot up to 100% which was nice to see. am i SOL when it comes to getting high usage at 1080p? I dont really want to have to upscale every game that i play so i can maintain a solid gpu usage and framerate. I have my power plan set at maximum performance and i have tried preferring maximum performance in nvidia control panel. Hoping someone here has any advice or input. Thanks. I can provide screenshots or other info you may need if anybody thinks it will help.

I could not dig the gameplay of Witcher 1. Tried it for 10 hours but really just couldn't get behind it. For its age, Witcher 2 looks really good, gameplay is fun, and the story was awesome. When I finished that game, I was so blown away by the story that I instantly restarted so I could go down the other story path.

I get similar performance with a 1070, i don't think the game is optimized too well. but it isn't unplayable.

I'm also happy that it is doing well. Not only do I find it more fun to play, it's much more fun to watch than PUBG

I'm not sure about the limit but I believe it has to be more than 3 below and above. Last week my friends and I queued with an MGE and we are all Silver Elite and below. Mind you, we were a 5 man queue, not sure if that has something to do with the limit.
