So I recently purchased a 512gb ADATA SD600 External SSD. When I opened it up and plugged it into my Windows 10 Desktop, it showed like it was not formatted, and it also would cause the file explorer to crash. I then plugged the drive into a machine running Ubuntu, and was able to access the drive, and store data, no problem. I even reformatted the drive using Ubuntu's disk utility to an NTFS format. Nothing I have done is able to make the drive work on my windows install however. Has anyone ran into a similar problem before, and if so what exactly is going on here?

I have 16Gb of ram and a 6Gb 980ti, so that shouldn't be the problem...

It happens in games like Tales from the Borderlands, which in no way should be intensive for a 980ti, and in games like payday 2 and doom.

Hey forum, I have been experiencing an issue in many of my games, most recently in Payday 2, where I get constant frame drops. It will run completely smooth at 60fps, then drop to around 20, then spring back to 60. My CPUs clock speed is stable and runs around 45 degrees. The GPU also is not throttling. What could be causing an issue like this? Specs are listed below. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've been well aware of this for some time, even with V-sync enabled there are these stutters. The framerate stays rock steady at 60fps, and I have a 60hz monitor, so this really confuses me.

Hey forum, I have been having a completely bizarre problem plaguing my computer over the course of the past year or so. I will have lighter weight games like Tales from the borderlands, danganronpa 2, and overwatch run at high frame rates (60 or above) but have constant stuttering. The most recent example was in Tales from the Borderlands, the fps counter provided by Shadowplay stayed steady around 60, but the game was constantly stuttering. This is incredibly frustrating and any insight into the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! PC specs are listed in signature.

Hey forum, I am getting frame rates around 65 fps on ultra setting in the Witcher 3 on a 1080p monitor. My pc specs are in my signature. I see benchmarks from other websites where the 980ti can push above 120fps. Is the AMD FX 8350 I am using really causing a 60 frame bottleneck, or is there possibly something else affecting frame rate? The 980ti is also overclocked and runs stable around 1400mhz. The 8350 runs at stock speeds,. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hey forum, One of my friends up at college does physics research. He was in the process of building his new computer to run simulations, and broke both Titan XPs while trying to install a water block. A couple surface mounted capacitors fell off of each card. He has found a repair place but they need a high resolution image of the schematic in order to repair the card. Does he have any hope? The card was bought from Nvidia directly so he had no additional warranty. Is he boned? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Computer shuts off a few seconds after turning on
BMARX123 replied to BMARX123's topic in Troubleshooting
I don't have a speaker attached, but it seemed to have booted into the BIOS normally once drives were removed. Could see CPU clock speed and memory. -
Hey forum, My PC was working flawlessly before, and as of yesterday whenever I turn it on, it seems to be turning on normally(all the fans spin up), but then shuts down between 5-20 seconds later. I unplugged the drives and it boots into the BIOS, but then also shuts down automatically. I have already checked all of the connections to make sure that they hadn't come unplugged and reseated all of the RAM. Any suggestions, or will I need to go purchase a new PSU?

Have already done this. The computer shows that it is receiving a connection with internet access, it just seems to not actually be connecting.

Hey forum, I have been having an intermittent issue with the network connection on my PC that has only gotten more frequent as time goes on. Every once in a while my computer, which is hooked up through ethernet, will lose its internet connection. All other devices work just fine, and unplugging and plugging the ethernet cable causes it to work again. I am hoping this is an easy fix as the connection dropping out while playing games is incredibly frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help!

I could make an awesome home theater setup out of this!

The drive was recognized and accessible for a short time, but then stopped. I am currently trying to format it, but I'm not sure if it is working.
