  1. Then I don't see a reason why you should even buy the same card, just buy like a gt610 for powering the monitors?
  2. Why would you run 2 cards in non-crossfire/sli? You would be literally putting it there for looks
  3. "Bandwidth has nothing to do with resolution, if you watched linus' test with 8x vs 16x, you would know." Maybe I should have stated that I was referring to 8x vs 16x, and not just "bandwidth has nothing to do with resolution" Sorry for the confusion. I think I misunderstood you because you said get a board that's capable of 3 X PCI-E 3.0 16x, and the only capable board of doing that (as far as I know, even in x79) is the Asus P9-X79-E WS, and getting that just for the sake of running at 3.0 16x when 3.0 8x will make no difference at all is ridiculous, so I was arguing about that. Glad to know that you weren't making pointless recommendations and not someone who says "moar bandwidth is better cuz 3.0 8x is bottlenecking so much" like the 9000 people on youtube that I had to explain this to Edit : forgot to quote you @Muramasa
  4. Nope, it doesn't have the lighting features
  5. Ummm could you link me the website that did this this? You can't just post this picture and expect me to believe it. I don't know if they did it at 2.0 8x and 3.0 8x so it actually makes a difference, and I'd also be interested to know how they tested this, because I don't know a cpu/motherboard that can just switch between pcie 2.0 and 3.0. And if you noticed, this benchmark was done in 5760x1080, which actually has less megapixels than 4k which linus did his test in. And if it didn't make a difference in his tests, I don't know how it did in this one.

  8. He changed it since I saw it. He had a 2500k running an Asus Z77 Pro board. Bandwidth has nothing to do with resolution, if you watched linus' test with 8x vs 16x, you would know. 4gb of Vram will bottleneck? So you expect him to get 2 Titans just so he could that extra 2gbs of Vram when he won't need it most of the time? It will be the graphics horsepower running out before the frame buffer runs out.
  9. Ummm no. Pretty much everything is wrong. 8x and 8x is no where near reaching the bandwidth limits even with powerful cards like the 290, and 4gb of Vram is plenty. And there is no Z77 board that can do 16x for 3 cards at the same time.

  11. Speaking of typing faster, this just happened like 2 minutes ago. I never got to 100wpm yet, and this was so sad. http://imgur.com/kHczQm1
  12. 3 replies with the same answer. K screw it I'm putting a waterblock Edit : JJR10 thanks for confirming that.
  13. Simple question. Does the EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 have a reference pcb?
  14. Isn't that a good thing?
  15. After all these suggestions, I give up I'm sticking to the default
  16. Yeah, I don't like the default one that much anymore, so I wanted a change. Any suggestions?

Wait, I have a question for anyone who's actually reading this (I know theres no one lol) but does the 980 ACX 2.0 have the reference pcb? Gonna have to google
  18. That whole b85/h81 overclock thing was only for the Pentium G3258, and the 4790k (don't get the 4770k) doesn't even need to get overclocked since it runs at 4.4 with turbo boost.
  19. It's perfectly possible even with peripherals, I don't know why people seem to think that you need to spend over 9000 dollars on a PC.
  20. "short on cash" Shoulda just told us the budget, not just "I don't have huge amounts of money"
  21. I have 3 PB278Qs + a LG 34UM95 as my main monitor, and I use the 34UM95 for small multitasking and watching movies, and the 3 PB278Qs for surround gaming/ heavy multitasking. Haven't had any trouble so far, except sometimes the 34UM95 and the PB278Qs tries to switch places (don't even ask me how) from time to time, but it doesn't really bother me since it fixes itself in like 5 seconds.
  22. I always thought it worked like BCLK for the cpu, it allows higher overclocks that wouldn't have been possible with stock clocks. But from what I've heard, you should leave it at Auto
  23. 25 fps in Tomb Raider and FC3, and 14fps in Crysis 3 and nothing in Watch Dogs (go figure) isn't exactly "stupid" for people running something like 1440p surround or something
