  1. Take a look at the m.2 slot that's underneath the GPU. It'll get toasty so avoid using it. Also, check the height of the CPU cooler's fan placement since it might interfere with the RAM heat-spreader. Speaking from personal experience.
  2. they sort of do this but not for video, no? Some application that uses the accelerometer and GPS data to set you a rating for safety or whatever.
  3. people get so much video out of Ukraine because of dashcams. It's virtually mandatory on these roads. That's for drivers that are 25 or 55. No difference. Be that a Bentley or a rusty Niva.
  4. The fact that all cars don't come pre-equipped with a dashcam is, frankly, idiotic.
  5. Do you expect to add storage to it cheaper than paying for the expensive version?

Cyberpunk 2077 with FSR Ultra Quality from 2880…

Even though I played the game in lower settings, honestly, in my head it basically didn't look much different than this. *shrug*

  9. What I like about Sony is that they do often push unusual design decisions and aren't afraid of trying again and again till something sticks to the wall.

Prefer using the start menu and browser bookmarks. Desktop is mostly used for stuff that's created for work. Then saved in the cloud, foldered and dropped into the work section.

Perhaps Google or Microsoft or some alliance of several manufacturers could build their own non-qualcomm mobile CPU. Too much to hope for, certainly. But I'd really like to know I can trust my phone's security

I'd not mind this be a selling feature on higher end phones.
  14. Can manufacturers make Android phones be ask theft-proof as iPhones are? As in - if someone steals it they cannot really do anything other than sell for parts.

I mean sure, but it would make getting second-hand phoens more painful than it needs to be imo

Considering I can change the IMEI of any Qualcomm SOC under the sun with a USB cable, no.

Android is inherently unsecure and it has to change but I doubt that it can.

  15. Sony Xperia Ace II feels as close to what an iPhone should feel like if it had Android on it.

Such a smooth phone. And small too! Really good standby time (almost a week of really light usage).

So happy I found such a nice device for my wife.

If they'll do that - their devices will get better resell value.

just deleted my spotify account, i suggest you…

Only used the service for a month about a year and a half ago. It was only just released in my country so I had to try it. For someone that doesn't have any music - sure it's probably OK. But I like to download my music and have it on hand. Got over 27000 tracks and a bunch of it is not on Spotify so I'd rather stick with my Plex server.
  18. At least this is fine enough! It's 20-ish % better than a 1070 which was around this price 5 years ago. Thanks for posting!
  19. 2 years ago I thought I'll put money aside for a GPU. Around $500.

But here I am, 2022. Still using a 1070. And find myself unable to muster the will to install a game. There's almost nothing I want to play.

Shit. Being 35 and a family changes you. Not about "priorities". Just the outlook and things that used to give you much more pleasure.

Doesn't look like I'll spend that money for a GPU any time soon. Even if I could - feels like I'll have to take a minute and think about it. Before this Microchip crisis I'd have much less need to think about it.

  20. What did your friend decide on? As far as I know the Poco X3 and Pro are more than $150 even at that time.
  21. "In stock' doesn't mean it's made avaialable for the wider public - only to the miners since normal people won't accept to pay almost double the price.
  22. A slow RTX card is still leagues better than anything people are still forced to hold on to.
