  1. It sounds like you have the water going to the GPU first then the CPU. If you would like to keep that system, then yes the delidding(?) would help drop the temps a degree or two.
  2. It's been a year and a month since I last logged into LTT. I would've expected more changes...

  3. I prefer real milk but if I had to pick one it has to be almond milk even though it tastes like someone took a handful of almonds and coated them in sugar to me.
  4. It's a really good idea IMO. It cuts down on the clutter of the two computers and you get some bling factor.
  5. I just spent the last 30 minutes shitting myself. My bank thought that the phone I was trying to buy was fraudulent because I forgot to transfer the money from my saving to my checking. I had to borrow my mom's credit card to get it to go through. I normally wouldn't have minded but One Plus gives a ten percent discount for students and it's once a month for one hour.

  6. I'm sorry my friend, either they were misinformed or they lied to you. You would have to learn how to solder chips. The CPU and GPU are not easily removable.
  7. The salesperson was talking about the storage and the RAM. It's very rare to find non solder CPU's and GPU's on laptop. Those are usually for the HIGH end models and we really don't see them there. Edit: Just realized it's a convertible, it's definitely not upgrade-able in that sense.
  8. I'd say sell PC #1 and use the money from that to get a 6700k. After you get the 6700k, sell the i3 for more money.
  9. I hope it is because any build would be suffocating that GPU.
  10. A 1060 is the perfect 1080p card. It can even be overkill sometimes(In DOOM 2016 I can play 100FPS on ultra with the 3GB version). Unless you plan on 1440p later down the road, the 1060 is the better option.
  11. If you are just using it for games or just regular light usage, no. The pro is better suited for high transfer file rates that need high reliability in a professional environment like video editing, for example. Most likely no, it's not worth the premium.
  12. 1.) Damn Canada, You's expensive. 2.) The Asus card looks like it has a CPU heat sink. Personal experience with CPU heat sinks on GPUs is that they run much hotter than a dedicated GPU heat sink. Personally I would pick the 1060. The 3GB of RAM is a little bit of a bottleneck but it will still be able to out perform the 1050ti. If you can afford it, buy the Gigabyte.

  14. This is bullshit. We pay for 25 down and 5 up. We can't do anything about it, it's either comcast or frontier and the outcome would be the same.

@catzambiaYou feel the pain. Is it just me or did it get worse after the vote?

  15. I can tell you it's not Vegas and the basic Music Maker. Those are the only two I have installed and nothing has happened yet. I have noticed with the Music Maker that I can't use Soundcloud while using Maker. I went to listen to a song because a plugin reminded me of that same sound and the songs wouldn't load and it would have to keep trying to load the next song in the playlist and fail.
