    NZXT X41< Corsair H100i< Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme< NZXT X61

Can't count the thermaltake 3.0 extreme out of this... it performs insanely well for its price. I have one in my rig and I can confirm.

That was in case he already had one or if he "absolutely" needed virtual surround other than Razer Surround

Not worth at all. Keep your money or get some more expensive and different headphones... especially since I expect you to use them for gaming almost exclusively, the Game Zero's are already very good.

Edit: Also, the human hearing range is 20hz to 20,000hz so anything above than that is pretty much useless on any given headphones. A lower frequency you won't be able to hear but might be able to feel it. So don't base your headphones choices on frequency alone.

djodars got a reaction from MumboJumbo in Beyerdynamic MMX 300 is it comfortable with glasses ?
Buy the DT770 Pro 32ohms then instead of the MMX 300 they're the same headphones just without the mic and $100 cheaper.

Then buy a cheap mic and you just saved money!

djodars got a reaction from MumboJumbo in ATH-ADG1 Sound Card?
Please don't talk in an audio forums if you don't know what you're talking about.

His motherboard has the Realtek ALC1150 codec for audio. It's got a signal-to-noise ratio of 115db and an output impedance of 2 ohms. Soundcards around $100 have a SNR of 116db and an output impedance of around 10 ohms...

Do you know what this means? It means any soundcards below the range of $250 will sound exactly like his onboard audio. Furthermore, since his onboard has got a lesser output impedance, it means it can support more headphones without audio degradation.

By the 1/8th rule, soundcards can only drive headphones of 80ohms and more to make sure there's no audio degradation. His onboard can drive anything from 16ohms and up.

To OP: You don't need a soundcard at all.

Edit: If you're worried about not having virtual surround, you can always download Razer Surround for free on their website. It's the same thing as CMSS-3D or Dolby headphones just maybe of lesser quality.
