Is there gender inequality in IT or cyber security?

Lmao forcing women to do particular tasks without career advancement or personal and financial independence because I can't figure out how bottles work. And y'all are saying I'm the one trolling. ? Come on guys, you've had a good enough go now. -

Look I feel ya bud, I grew up in the States, but my family's from Europe where there's mandatory conscription for men. My dad did it, his brother did it, my cousins still do it. I'm guessing you are/will probably have to do it too, from what you're saying. Maybe join the feminists in opposing it though lol. Lol first of all, we do have modern day nazis doing that. And no, conscription wouldn't help that. This is some galaxy brain logic here. When was the last time you went out and like killed a pig? Lol. Also many places have paternity leave as well as maternity leave. Unsurprisingly, it's mostly feminists and leftists trying to get paternity leave for men too in places that don't have it. e/ Tbh, it kinda sounds like you like feminist/leftist ideas, but you just don't like women lol. Maybe you outta work on that? -

If what you are saying that men are worse at raising children because they are too dumb to figure out where the food and the diaper goes, then lol and also yes you are correct. I love having "natural instincts" for making electrons go in wires but as a consequence, I accidentally throw my babies in the ocean sometimes rofl -

Yikes, maybe try reading the post I was responding to before commenting. You know... "context" and all. Also big yikes on your (false) hyper-trad assertion there, Brad. Also being able to carry a child has no bearing on being able to raise a child... But I love it when men point out how unbelievably inept they are. Like I can just see you going up to a PC repair guy and saying "Well ya know ma boi, this PC here didn't come outta me so I really dunno how to fix it, please help, I am otherwise very smart." Lmao -

Uhhh I don't support compulsory military service for anyone. Feminists generally want to see no compulsory military service at all, especially for men. If you wanna join the military, go for it. Speaking of equal rights in the military, feminists tend to be more concerned about trans inclusion in the military too. Not to mention male-female and even male-male sexual harassment in the military. It's typically just feminists/leftists talking about these things. Genuinely don't see how this question was supposed to help you... But you asked it I guess. -

To directly address your uhh "point", there are a few reasons for this. First, women tend to be better educated than men, so there are fewer women in these fields. Second, these are typically low income jobs, and women in low income households are typically relegated to "housewife" and "raising the children", since the families can't afford childcare. Third, these industries tend to not hire women in the first place because they are "weaker than men". Fourth, women are more highly represented in other low-wage work like food prep and house cleaning. Still curious how you got to think something so blatantly wrong like this... Like which alt-right network was it? -

Genuinely curious how it's possible to believe stuff like this. This reeks of "I've never listened to a feminist, but I do watch a lot of Infowars so I'm pretty sure I know what they're about." -

Thank you for addressing my concerns. I can see now that there is no possible way that a workplace could be unfair to their employees. You have been a very big help to me. -

Ah yes, I love hand carrying my payslips to the Office of Holding Corporations Accountable for Paying People Enough and getting my free money from my company (takes up to a week though) and then going back into work on Monday. Okay you guys can drop it now, you've been mega trolling me right? Y'all can't honestly be this dumb. -

You could just save characters and type "Well actually..." instead lmao. Every one of these sentences could be interpreted as mocking/ironic and they would be absolutely hilarious. +1 from me. -

(The employer annualizes the data. It's not incomplete. The employer does it. See below for reference, beware grad level math incoming.) -

Uhhh you realize that there are stats that discuss exactly what you say doesn't exist. We're talking about them in the thread right now. Have you actually ever looked at the reported stats? Are y'all okay over here on the Linus Tech Tips forums? I'm worried about you guys. -

Dude you still haven't figured out what annualized means. Nor can you apparently interpret english in good faith. (You may be an ESL learner in which case, I apologize.) Okay one by one now, but really put your thinking cap on this time: 1. First of all, you are mixing quotes from different sections of the document, that is, different GPG measures. As the article explains, different measures can be used to asses the GPG, with different strengths and weaknesses. Why you mix quotes from different measures is beyond me--unless of course you didn't actually read it because you just wanted to cherry pick quotes and you don't actually are about the "fAaAaAcTsS". 2. Again, different measures take different stats into account. A limitation of the "Full-time adult weekly ordinary time earnings" measure is, as you so handsomely point out, that it does not take into account this variation. This is why there are other measures. Additionally, if you whip out your handy-dandy pocket calculator, you will see that a ratio of 36/40 times the pay gap still implies an overall GPG for this measure. Also, see 5., below. 3. Was this supposed to help your case? (???? Worried about you, mate.) 4. Now this is just bad faith misrepresentation of text 101. The sentence reads: "cannot determine or explain causes of the differences..." [emphasis mine]. If you still can't parse that Shakespearean grammar, they mean that they are only looking at the data (read: facts) that the GPG exists, not trying to determine what causes it. 5. (For the third time now), that single measure is based on gross earnings. The GPG is larger according to measures with more accurate accounting (this is easily verifiable by... reading the document). Again, this quote says the opposite of what you intend to prove. Hope this helps... Concerned 4 u. -

Aight lemme help you out my bruh. Woman works 1000 hours in year X, makes $30k. This is annualized (by the employer) to 60k. Man works 2000 hours in year X, makes $65k. This is annualized to $65k. This is what their data is. The fact that neither you, nor the senator, nor that hamburger talking into the mic can figure that out is why you are misinformed about the fAcTs. I wish you all the best my beloved homeslice.
