one thing .. build quality and good support is no excuse to raise the price that high, look at lenovo their built quality is amazing and if something breaks they will send someone over to fix it.

Could the LTT crew please listen to the community and stop with the retarded thumbnails and insane clickbait (although that vary's with videos some are worse than others).

We get it that it get's you guys more money but simply faking a title is wrong.
I liked it when the thumbnails represented the product or the topic more like they did a year ago.

This video has a intriguing title and a good Thumbnail.                                    This more recent one sucks, Photo shopped asf and is ugly, not helpful at all.
Gives a good view of the product and is nice.                                                  I mean WHAT DO HOTDOGS HAVE TO DO WITH AN ALL-IN-ONE?!?

Or this thumbnail is really good!                                                VS             Then you have thumbnails like this one which have nothing to do with the
Topnotch camera work by brandon and the title just works.                              video itself.. Please.

Thumbnails that are not photo shopped are way better and the ones that are shouldn't be used it as it gives the video a way less professional look and is just plain annoying and anti-consumer.

Hmm, I see what you mean, it can be annoying never knowing when a series will be updated, tomorrow, the weekend, next month?

I'd love to see a set day in the week for these series (Series Saturday anyone?).

It's impossible for them to know what's going to happen (like with the latest West Coast cooling episode), so they can't guarantee a video on that same subject on the same day, every week.

But they do have many series going, so maybe having other series related videos go up on that day would be nice. Giving at least some regular and expected continuity.

If this has come up already or is in the wrong place I'm sorry, but this is the only way I knew to get my opinion heard.
First of all I get it, that getting out one video a day is very hard, especially when you try to keep up the quality high. I also understand that some videos take longer edit, and/or many people don't like to watch a 1hour video.
But what bothers me the most is that the episodes are so far from each other, that I would prefer that the first video of a series would only be released when it is possible to release all episodes in the same week.

I'm still a LTT fan but now if I see "part 1" I'm not excited to watch the video, but I feel down because I know it's going to take weeks until I get to see another part, and if that continues I will just stop watching multi- parts videos.

EDIT: Cases where that was extreme was "the bang for the buck z97 motherboard guide" the first and the last episode where like 1 month apart..or the whole room water cooling project, I diidn't even watch that until the end because after 1 month of waiting I simply lost interest.

Haha for me it's the other way around, I got used to the teasing but if it were only one weak for one part, that would be reasonable, the cases I'm talking about it's like a month for one part.

For that budget you could build a really good sytem in a case such as the Silverstone RVZ01 which is an xbox 360 sized/shaped PC case

That would perform way better than what you are looking at

The funny thing is that you can only truly tell what was future proof, from the past till now.So that word doesn't make sense in the first place.
Because technology moves so fast that it is hard to predict how fast tech in development will take to reach the market and it is even harder if not impossible to predict innovations that could turn around our whole understanding of what is better than what.
IBMs cognitive cpu's could turn out so great and cheap that they beat any cpu, a new way to utilize ram memory could be found making dual channel Rams so efficient that 8gb is all you will ever need, and the max it can use is 8gb per channel and thus making ur single slot 16gb only worth 8gb...are those events likely? No, but what's even more unlikely is that nothing unlikely in the tech field will happen from now to the next couple of years.

It's like saying a ferrari is closer to the speed of light than a bmw z4. It's true, but if your goal is the speed of light the difference is irrelevant.

Hi, everyone. I wasn't sure where to put this, but I can't make a new topic in the Linus' videos/ramblings/news forum, so here seemed like the next best place.

    Basically, I watched this video
here from Linus last night. In the video, I realized that Linus was misinformed by Gigabyte about the contents of the system. And in fact, Gigabyte is lying to everyone, because their sale page still has the incorrect information. Let me explain now.
So... Gigabyte tells Linus (and everyone else) it's a GTX 760 video card. Linus THINKS it's a GTX 760. It's actually a GTX 870M. If you pause the video at 4:48-4:49 before he zooms in to show the throttled clock speeds, you can look at his GPU-Z screenshot of the card's specifications.

    GTX 760 specifications: 1152 cores, 980 base/1033 boost clock, 6000MHz mem bandwidth, 256-bit mem bus, 2GB and 4GB vRAM configurations. Proof: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760/specifications
GTX 870M: 1344 cores (check), 941 base (check)/967 boost (higher in video) clock, 5000MHz mem bandwidth (check), 192-bit mem bus (check), 3GB and 6GB configurations (check), downclocks as far down as 2D clocks when super hot (check). Proof: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gtx-870m/specifications

So basically, Gigabyte seriously took a GTX 870M, modified the vBIOS to boost its "boost" clock and return that it's a GTX 760, shoved it into that tiny thing without proper cooling, having it downclock on itself due to overheating, and is selling it to people as being a desktop GTX 760.

The reason the GTX 860M 2GB card works in the small PCs is because it's maxwell, not kepler, and runs exceedingly cool for its power. It does not need a whole lot of cooling, but the stronger mobile kepler cards (like 680M, 780M, 870M, 880M) need at least a decent cooling configuration to work, which this lacks, and thus Linus' testing overheated the card easily. As for the 870M's relative strength to desktop hardware, it *IS* a GTX 660Ti with 5000MHz memory clock instead of 6000MHz memory clock and more memory. 660Ti specs as proof: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-660ti/specifications
