  1. It's a tech office. Fire hazards are much greater. A Firepole would offer an alternative Emergancy exit in case of fire. If anyone is bound to burn a building down, it's Linus. If you don't have one you better make sure your upper floor has a sled going out to the rear parking lot. Otherwise, you'll need to worry more about Life Insurance than Workman's comp. Funeral costs are high, and Linus will be immortalized as a terrible boss with Luke's headstone reading "If only Linus bought a Firepole.". #darktruth #feartactics
  2. Burn In can be a thing, it's not always a thing. I have some IE80's from Sennheiser that, when I got them, were the trashiest things I'd ever heard. They had really good bass, but anything non-EDM/Pop sounded like butthole. Literal fart quality. After a week of leaving them in a closet on a plugged in ipod mini on medium volume, I put them back into my cellphone, turned on the same playlist I tried the first day.. and holy balls, they were great. I had been using Shure SE215 LTDs, and I adored them to the point of using them over my Beyerdynamic DT880's and for some music even over my Hifi-Man HE-400's, but when I finally 'burned in' my IE80s, they went from being ready to be returned, to making me sell my SE215's to a friend. I now use those IE80's daily, not as my primary headphone because the HE400's are really hard to beat in that price range, but if I'm mobile, working out, or just taking a nap.. the IE80's are in, and being used. Not going to say some burn in are irrelevant - my HE-400's were supposed to require some burn in. Horseshit, sound the same now (great!) as when I got them. Same with my DT880's, though less people say a burn in is needed on them. EDIT: as for a good starting DAC/AMP, I used a FiiO E07K for awhile, loved it. FiiO tends to have popular offerings. I use a O2/ODAC now just because I found one with a RCA output on Mayflower Electronics, which serves my AudioEngine A5+'s really well. That all being said, congrats! My first 'audiophile' headphones opened a new and expensive world to me, and while at first the difference may seem awesome.. wait until you try to go back to what you used before, and you'll have a deep revelation about how awesome it really is.
  3. G2A sponsors alot of DOTA2 content, but I think they're one of the most suspect sponsors I've seen. I'd just as soon you were advertising MLG, Doritos, Mountain Dew, Taco Bell, and XBOX One(s), but that's just my opinion. Basically what I'm saying is, don't make a deal with G2A. Find someone less sketchy.
  4. My biggest mistake was believing my middle school project of building a computer in a Pizza Box was going to last without fire.

  6. Idk, as someone who has recently lost their job, that video was like "you know, I get the fun, and I'm sure he got a proper interview... but **** this video.".
  7. The kuhler is my favorite for sure.. I use a h100i that has been running virtually non-stop for about 2 years.. It's really time to move on.
  8. Honestly, the cooler looks Ok. It's unique. I'm apparently the only human being alive that thinks the Gigabyte Windforce cooler looks so incredibly bland... it hurts my eyes every time I look in my case.
  9. I can hardly remember when I first found LTT.. I just remember that at the time I was using an old dual core AMD rig, and had just started working again after half a year of being unemployed and losing my apartment. Finally I was back on my feet, and needed to get back into PC tech, and used LTT (and people they did collaborations with) to get myself up to date and ready to build again. Thanks, Linus & crew.. you really are awesome folks, and I'm glad to see this worked out for you!
  10. There isn't a single computer problem that cannot be solved by a good voodoo ceremony and an intense staring contest with the motherboard.
  11. I like that sexy red/black theme they keep using for RoG gear, it's particularly well done in this model.
  12. I learned something.. but for some reason all I can remember is... Lycan?!
  13. Thanks! Yeah I'll probably give that a shot. Thanks for the advice!
  14. So I'm looking at getting a small home NAS for Bittorrent support and backup of my media library. I was looking around, and the Synology NAS setup seems the most user friendly, so I was interested in the Synology DS213j, which seems to cover everything I'll need. I'll be putting 2x2TB WD Reds in it. I would also like to have it connected to a UPS for that extra bit of safety. But I'm not a networking guy, and while I do deal with hardware, I'm not an electrician either! So here are some questions I had, hopefully I can get some idea of what I need to do! First: Are Synology's NAS solutions decent for a small Bittorrent download/seed station? I use bittorrent quite frequently (though not extreme loads, maybe 200-500GB of transfer both ways combined a month), so this is something I'm really stressing on. -And if they are, is it possible to run them through a VPN (with relatively easy setup)? Second: What kind of UPS would I need for this particular NAS. Say I just put the Modem, Router, and NAS on the UPS, would a 500-600w be sufficient? And from my understanding, Synology can USB into compatible UPS solutions to monitor power incase it needs to shut down due to power loss and limited battery time.. is this a correct interpretation of the feature? and finally! WD Reds seem to be the popular choice, but is there any particular reason to spring for SE drives on a home NAS? Thanks in advance!
  15. I watched that ending part and thought "You know, remove the chocolate from the frame and this bathroom scene could be easily misunderstood".
