Your rig is more than capable of editing in CUDA-enabled NLE's. The Warp stabilizer effect doesn't fully leverage the GPU horsepower.
I'm certain enough that the Analysis part of it is happening all on the CPU. I tested this myself and found out the GPU usage were 0% during
the "Analyze in Background" part (I use OpenCL but other forums concurred with the same premise on CUDA). However,
the playback of the effects (once it's finished) is handed off to the GPU.
 
The CPU 'sluggishness' isn't true. However, comparatively the i7-920 CPU is on par (if not a little lower)
than a k-part i5 (Source: http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/456/Intel_Core_i5_i5-4670K_vs_Intel_Core_i7_i7-920.html).
But don't let that fool you though. For what you're rendering, it's fast enough. 
 
Another thing I should point out. If you're having problem with AVCHD files, try re-wrapping the .mts files to .mp4 (Media encoder from the Adobe suite can do this).
They're about 25% smaller and works without hiccups, heck they may even be faster than encoding AVCHD stock.
 
As for the 'upgrading' part, you currently don't need to. But be mindful that CPU processing is more important than GPU acceleration. The NLE's don't
leverage the GPU on rendering. It's all on serial processing (CPU). A more powerful (Quadro or FirePro) GPU is just an icing on the cake, if you will.

Totally on the same boat. For about a month it gathers up dust. I usually eradicate the filth with a damp cloth and it would be in its pristine condition in no time. 

A little late reply but nevertheless, I've got 3 internal drives each 500GB in capacity, all of them are almost full. I also got 2 external drives one a terabyte and the other three-fourths of a terabyte, both of which are also full. I'm eyeing on a 2TB NAS, so I might hold the upgrade until then.
I have a Dreamspark account and have access to both 32 and 64 bit versions of the OS. It's quite practical for me to have the whole 4GB of RAM as I'm going to do some light photo & video editing on it.

One thing to note, the Poseidon Z is based on the Kailh switches. Arguably, there's a difference.

Exactly. However, it still haven't caused a flock of Apple geese to go switching to Android. They would never think that a time would come where Android surpasses the iPhone.

What you can make by coding is virtually limitless. Create websites, games, databases, programs. Some even do the most basic games and earn fifty-grand per day. (*cough* Flappy Bird)
I suggest to start with C or C++. Then slowly work your way up to Object-Oriented Programing in C++ or Java. Then it's personal preference from there, wanna code iOS? Learn Swift (or Objective-C). Websites? Learn PHP. Databases? MySQL.
 
Tips: The first steps is gonna be hard. (I almost gave up) Never let a problem bog you down though - Keep researching, Keep learning. Once you get the hang of it, proceed with the more complex stuff. And do something fun & interesting with codes for awhile to help free your brain from problems.

Fortunately, a corrupted flashdrive/sd card never occurred in behalf of my experience with computers. By default they're optimized to be removed without safely ejecting first. (based on the settings on the OS) So long as the drive isn't being written to, I'm certain enough I can remove it without getting worried.

It may depend on your use case. But I concur with @ZacDaMan72, the Macbook Pro is what I personally would go for.

It started about 4 years ago when I had the interest of video editing. I'm a huge fan of Film Riot by that time and their Monday Challenge (A monthly video submission) is always exciting because we do our own scripts, have many actors in the area, and edit videos ourselves. I really dig video editing. My username in itself houses 'FX' which is quite common in the video world. I used to edit in SVP but I ditched it to look for a more professional NLE. I switched to Adobe Premiere Pro CC just recently (about a year) and my needs fit right in. I do short films primarily and I'm constantly learning from my mistakes. 
 
I'm heavily inclined just to editing but I do color correction and color grading too when I got time. I use Premiere for the color correction and Davinci Resolve for the grading but it's very tedious when you do it shot by shot. I like how Adobe has the Dynamic Link which makes editing more simpler. I can switch between Adobe apps when need be. (i.e editing audio in Audition)
 
I enjoy editing a lot because it's what I consider as the 'creative' part in the whole 'filmmaking' process. (You can set the tone via color grades, change audio tracks which changes the mood) I edit once a month and it's very soothing and relaxing doing it. Here's my latest video in my new channel (assuming it doesn't violate LTT's CoC)

Well you could always delete the partition you want then extend your C:\ partition with the unallocated sector.
