    Experiences with non-techies

Lol I've probably already said this on here before, but I remember back when I upgraded to 8gb of RAM back in 2013 and was all happy about it. It came up in a conversation I was having with my Mac loving cousin, and he chimes in all smug like "my iMac has 1TB"... His HDD was 1TB. 5400rpm at that, iirc. facedesk
  2. Activator on my good old jailbroken 3GS absolutely murders the functionality of Android devices. Activator is actually the biggest thing I miss from iPhone. If you don't know what Activator is, basically any action or button on your device can do just about anything you can think of. Almost infinite possibilities. Double press this button to do this, triple press this button to do this, double press these two buttons together to do this, tap and hold this portion of the screen to do this, double tap this icon to do this, hold this button for this many seconds to do this, inserting headphones does this, plugging out the charger does this, etc. etc. etc. So yeah, the Bixby button just makes me sad.

    Good L shaped table?

If you have the time, you could always build one!
  4. So why are we in a rush for AI again? Shit's scary when you really think about it. It's like we're eager to obsolete ourselves.

dell optiplex 780 needs some care

As others have already said on here, the optiplex 780 still has a lot to offer. Honestly it makes me sad hearing there's a poor 780 being held back by a p4 out there. Upgrade it to a q6600! It'll be perfectly usable in 2019.
  6. Call me when they bring back the Mac Pro in a way that doesn't suck.

Apple is being sued because 2FA "takes too long"

Another day, another frivolous lawsuit. Fuck humanity.

what computer you own is your favorite?

Oh boy.... I guess that'd be my pentium iii Optiplex GX110. That thing has been through some serious shit, but it still lives. Most reliable system in my collection. Out of my relevant systems... My bedroom Athlon 64 x2 HTPC (specs in sig), it's a monster.

    Metroid Prime 4 Delayed

The story is garbage and the gameplay is repetitive. The Metroid series is held in a very high regard and even a "just okay" Metroid game will be hated, no surprise.

    Metroid Prime 4 Delayed

The thought of those games getting remastered has me drooling, and that's as someone who's sick of the constant remasters and rereleases. Those games looked gorgeous in their time, they look pretty damn good now, and in 1080p on dolphin they look even better. But a proper remaster? Ohhhhh boy, this could be one of the best looking games of all time.

    Can your Keyboard do THIS??

Just dropping by to say that Taran makes an excellent host, this was really good. Also, WTF IS THIS I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THIS IS BUT I'LL TAKE 20
  12. I guess that depends on what you define as "knowledgeable". I think this is what I'd define as "decently knowledgeable": I guess to get to that point.... I dunno, I was like 17. Been using computers basically my whole existence, and I've been learning VERRY slowly since then. It all accelerated when I popped open my first side panel at 11. I was just very curious about it, wanted a PC to call my own and what luck, my family had plenty of "broken" PCs laying around. My knowledge of most things is still real shaky at best, and I'm always learning new stuff. I have A LOT to learn before I'm ready to save anyone.
  13. I just ran Prime 95 and used the exhaust fans on the top of my FX rig to bring cold cheese to room temperature...  What the fuck am I doing with my life?
