Connecting LG TV Monitor 28'' 28MT47D to a laptop

Hello

so im trying to connect my laptop to this specific monitor using an hdmi and i cant get signal

windows 8 on laptop

 

im a newbie when it has to do with monitors 

would like some help on what should i do

yeah, i chose the "duplicate" screen option from devices->display menu i think

 

the correct source is supposed to be "hdmi", isnt it? or maybe AV? still both not working

To see follow this guide

1. Press Win key and Pause (or Pause Break) and a window should open.

2. Click the button that says "Device Manager"

3. Maximize the Monitors tab, and it should show all displays that are plugged into the computer. (In your case, there should be 2)
