its not needed at all, you can use just the 8-Pin CPU power connector.

So, i bought a z97x-soc force, WITHOUT realizing that it uses an extra 4-pin cpu connector, DO I need to plug that in (because i dont have That one on my psu) or is that only needed for hardcore oc'ing?

I do not seek guessings, i seek the right answer!

Its ment for extreme OCing which you won't see on normal cooling,
