Fx 6300 Throttle?

Hey,

I just recently tried to stress test, with windows 10 to check for any system instability and the system is just fine. However, I get huge clock drops, according to aida 64, and while rendering, my cpu falls from 4.6 to a 4.3 , and some drops to 3ghz.What could i've been doing wrong? I have a hyper 212 evo with a skythe kaze fan running on it, and my stock 6300's cooler fan blowing on the vrms (all the fans are running on 12v rails). Help me please

There is a problem with Your motherboard, my current fx4100 which i overclocked to 4.5ghz does the same when gaming tough games.

And i've heard too, that some people have tried that and finding out That it isnt the motherboard anyways, and Finds out That its the RAM instead which cant follow up with the work you do, which affects the cpu. This gets really bad if using amd's cool'n'quiet mode.

I've disabled every sort of power saving stuff in the bios I could possibly find. Im currently running single channel hyperx 1866cl10 8 gigs ram, and willing to add an other 8. Will going dual channel be able to handle the problem I currently experience, or theres no way to fix it?

Your ram speed seees fine, your motherboard might me bricked

So now what? Do I just return it saying that I cannot go for more than 4.5 without having the clocks to drop at 100% ? Or will that void the warranty?

That 990FX mobo should not trottle that CPU its impossible! Try to reset the mobo or check if Windows 10 is being dumb.

First i will do as nena says, he might know more than me (he accually does know more than me) otherwise try to contact your retailer and tell them your problem :-)

That 990FX mobo should not trottle that CPU its impossible! Try to reset the mobo or check if Windows 10 is being dumb.

I tried resetting the bios and the problem still occurs. My best bet is that windows 10 is being a b**** because, a friend also has a problem with his g3258 on windows 10, he cant overclock it, not sure why. How can I stress the cpu to see if the clock drops , outside windows 10? Maybe by booting up a linux live cd or something?

I am sure its not your CPU so try re-installing the chipset and see if there is any improvements?

I tried removing the cpu and still nothing. Changed thermal compounds to northbridge & chipset but I still get this horrible throttling. Coulb by any chance be windows 10 misreading the clock speeds, (notice that im running windows 10 and drivers for my chipset that support windows 10 are not out yet, sadly).

Ok, an other update. 

I aimed for 4.5 and the problem still occurs. That didnt happen before! Please help me, im starting to freak out.

Thats exaly not realy true, there are still 990FX boards that will throttle.

The chipset it self does totaly say nothing about the overclock capability´s of an AM3+ board.

Yeah the revision 3 of that particular board, is indeed known for its throttle issues.

You could try to update the bios to its latest version, which might improve some voltage stability.

The fan you can see there is currently blowing air on my VRMS.

Yeah I say report the issue and if they dont fix it soon roll back...

True my 970 mobo is awesome! (but are there really some 990FX boards that cant even handle a six-core?!)
