Monitor + GPU Choice

Boriquen

This is my current setup:

EVGA GTX 960 SSC

AMD FX 4300 (Upgrading to FX 8350 or even more, bottlenecking yes I'm aware)

32GB RAM

Corsair 850W

MSI 760GM-P34(FX)

1. So the thing is I'm going to upgrade on monitors, I've been thinking about getting this Acer Predator 1440p 144hz G-Sync IPS Display. The only thing is I want good FPS, and make sure I won't lag or any of that on most games with this monitor.

Or

2. I was thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a GTX 980ti and a even more powerful processor. With that same monitor.

Monitor -

Which one should I chose?

get an intel CPU and go 960 in SLI.

Could you direct me to a Intel CPU? That will fit my situation.

i5-4690K would be your best choice if you're planning to overclock. It's around 240 euro's/dollars

more budget friendly would be an intel i5-4460, however it's not unlocked so no overclocking. Coming in at 180 euros/dollars

Well , than you can go overkill for an i7-4970K. But for regular gaming the i5 is more than enough for at least 5 years. Just make sure you get a good z97 mobo.

OR OR OR OR

Wait for the skylake CPU's which will be released in like 4 days!!!

a 8350 will bottleneck the 980 ti Massively even if overclocked. if you want to remove the bottleneck you'll need to

Any AMD CPU's out there that won't bottleneck the 980ti?

And if I do get a 980ti setup, will I need to get Water cooling?

Depends on the game but in general not really, no. If you get a 980 Ti you should switch to an i5-4690K or i7-4790K.

Water cooling is never necessary. It is only a luxury.
