Build looks good to me :) should handle 1080p and 1440p like a champ and could even play games in 4k relatively well (on lower settings)

Should handle streaming rendering and gaming just fine ( I do all of those on my older 4770k + 780ti)

Step 1: Delete space after link

Step 2: ...

Step 3: Profit?

I didn't see the space, figured a letter was missing

Drop the i7. i7's are overrated for gaming tbh. An i5 will do just as good for gaming. Read up reviews brah! For any budget? Aim for around half your budget on the GPU. That's how you build a good PC Gaming rig. ;)

Besides, DirectX 12 and Vulkan will make the CPU even less important as it moves the draw calls from the CPU to the GPU... an i5 with a GTX 980 Ti will be more future proof.

I'd also recommend dropping the GTX 980 Ti for an AMD R9 Fury to save a few bucks.. but due to low HBM inventory? They're not a very good option right meow as they're constantly on back order.

Get that. Zotac GPUs have FIVE year warranty as long as you register your product directly with Zotac within 30 days (or is it 14?) of purchase.

You can add in an SSD if ya want for that extra $100. It's optional for faster boot times, but if you want as cost effective as possible? That. Or drop the memory down to 1600MHz. That'll help a little without much performance difference.

Heyyo,

:) Ok. Will i be good Editing on i5?

Ah fuck I accidentally deleted my ram lol.. ok added it back in.

Yes, editing will be fine on an i5. A 4K rendered video might take a little longer sure (check vids from JayzTwoCents on youtube about that stuff as an example or LTT has some too I think) but otherwise? An overclocked i5 will do just fine. :)

Heyyo,

Your build is decent... but only a single 120GB SSD for storage? He'd be better off getting a single 1TB HDD than a 120GB SSD. Can't install that many games on a single SSD... especially if he's doing any video editing or such. He'll run out of storage way too quickly.

Enough for 4K with graphics turned down yeah. Otherwise? It won't handle an average of 60fps.

http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/AMD-Fury-X-vs-NVIDIA-GTX-980-Ti-2-and-3-Way-Multi-GPU-Performance/Grand-Theft

4K isn't quite there for single GPU... it's pretty damn close though! I'm sure 2016 with DirectX 12 and Vulkan API's? It might give it that extra nudge it needs and be able to do it... but for meow? I'd stick with 2560x1440 unless you were willing to really nut-up and splurge heavily on GPU power for 4K in all its glory... plus? What about games in 2016? Who even knows how intense they can get graphically.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti-review

Sadly this test was done before GTA V so can't really conclude on that... The Witcher 3? Yeah it looks good but I always found GTA V looks better whilst trying to maintain 60fps on my PC so... I'd mainly look at Farcry 4. This review was also before the AMD R9 390X or R9 Fury aircooled too.

Like this one:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-amd-reveals-full-spec-for-cut-down-air-cooled-r9-fury-blog

Ugh... look at ACU though hahaha... why do they even bother benchmarking that game and not GTA V which people actually play? :P

ACU and The Witcher 3 would probably benefit the most of DirectX 12 and Vulkan with the increase ability of draw calls per second improvements... but geez, right meow? Those game engines are definitely the bottleneck.

I7 at price of i5 and this is pretty much a 4k card so it will max out 1440p EZ:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gsJWsY

Ah true, the Intel Xeon is pretty darn good. It does sacrifice overclocking but it'll edit videos a lot better.

If ya want an extreme situation which may or may not apply to you? Pretty much the best time to benchmark a CPU?... LTT! Gaming/Streaming/Editing all at the same time! I dunno if you'll ever do it... but if ya do? More logical cores is better yeah. If ya don't? Then drop down to an i5 and same even more cash. ;)

With that in Mind? I decided to change my list to be more preferential to video editing and less to gaming and go for the cheapest costs I could find. :P

GPU, PSU and Motherboard are on sale so that's why I picked those. Otherwise I'd have picked a little lower spec stuff.

So this would be a bare minimum what I'd recommend for excellent 2560x1440 with maxed out graphics (so it'll be future proof for a bit!) with an average framerate above 60fps with solid video editing.

Also I went with that RAM due to the price difference between 1600MHz and 1866MHz is low ($5 only lol woot) and it'll help with Video editing a little. I decided to drop my build down to 8GB Dual channel due to this LTT video... but if you got the spare cash? I'd get that original 16GB 1.5V 1866MHZ kit I quoted above and make a RAM scratch disk for smoother operation in Adobe programs.

Hope that helps. :P
