repairing an old cooler master fan controller :/

i got a second hand fan, with a pre-attached fan controller, but two wires (the only two connecting the controller and the fan) broke. the red and black ones, does it matter which of the two leads on the fan controller they go into?

yes they are orientation specific as they need to match the power and gnd of the controller.  Just try it both ways until it works

yeah, I prefer unleaded, but thats IMO.  make sure to get no clean/rosin core though so you don't have to use flux
