[Solved] PC Randomly Freezing for 1-3 Minutes.

Hello, I got an new graphics card the other day and it has been making my computer randomly freeze.

Specs:
CPU: AMD A8-6600k APU
GPU: Vapor R9 270x

There is no certain thing that I do to make it randomly freeze.
I play games or watch youtube videos and it freezes.
I have a fresh install of Windows 8.1 with only drivers installed.

I have a Corsair CX750?

It should be powering it correctly.

Wouldn't it just turn off if it didn't have enough power?

And no, not necessarily. I've had ATI cards do that all the time back in the day. Everything seemed fine for 15-20 minutes then it started randomly freezing. What mobo do you have?

I had an old shitty GTX 260 from Nvidia before this card and it never froze once.

I installed the 270x and it began to freeze.

So it seems to be the 270x having some sort of problem.

Did you reinstall windows before or after installing the new card?

If you did it before and still have the nVidia drivers you might have a driver conflict (can be solved by uninstalling the nVidia driver and running CCleaner to get rid of the trash the uninstall leaves behind)

I put the new card in and reinstalled completely.

So there is no nVidia stuff on the PC at all.

My computer used to freeze like that when I had a super-low-power $35 celeron g540. That's really all the insight I have, though.

check and see if your HDD is going bad

Thought of this it's not the HDD, replaced it also.

Ive ended up fixing it myself.
It has the Catalyst software that comes with the drivers.
When you're installing the drivers for the first time extract them to the folder but don't install the catalyst thing and then go to your Device Manager and go to the graphics card and click update drivers and then go to the directory of the drivers that were extracted from the program most likely at C:/AMD/
