Can't get Videos to transfer to DVD-R disc to work in DVD player

I am trying to put some videos on a dvd-r disc to play on a dvd player.

can people help D: 

nothing is working :o

My PC Specs: CPU: Core i5 4590 @ stock speeds, GPU: RX 480 8GB, RAM: 16GB DDR3 @1600mhz

 

Case: Zalman ZM-T4,Motherboard: GigaByte GA-H81M-S2H LGA 1150, HDD/SSD: 2TB Seagate Expansion drive, 1TB Samsung Portable HDD, 160gb Intel SSD, PSU: 550w corsair cxm

can your burner write to those formats -r rather than +r.

are you trying to just put files on or burn as a movie disk.

what software have you tried.

have you tried more than one disk I have had bad experiences and had multiple disks in a pack be useless.

1. no clue :P

2. movie disc

3. ConverXtoDVD

4. 3 disks

on the player look for what formats it supports, maybe check the specs too.

players also do not support every codec / format / container out there you you may need to do some converting also with something like Handbrake.

It is supposed to be compatible :o

What file format are you burning to the DVD?

AVI/MP4/MKV/VOB/Another?

You can check easily enough... right click the file and go to properties,.. it should say the file type there.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Try converting and making the format MPEG-2 then burn that. Its the most commonly used format used by DVD players.

most old dvd players only play dvd format.

where the audio and video are 2 separate files.

burning it to an mp4 or dvi/mov will not work.

aren't dvd players like 50p/50c these days and all come with USB ports lol.

Sorry about not getting back right away, work bites! O.K. here is the lowdown. Most "older" dvd players will not play "home burned" dvds. I can tell you this much from experience. Did you try the dvd you burned in a newer player? Maybe a friend has a newer one that can recognize the dvd. The older dvd players will not even see a "home burned dvd".When I first started burning DVD's years ago this happened to me. The fix was for me to get a newer dvd player. Hope this helps.
