Unknown Issue

I have a m5a97 le r2.0 motherboard that won't boot if I put ram in the first 3 slots. I have tested each ram module by putting each stick in the first slot and it boots up fine without any problems. Any hints or suggestions as to why this might be happening? I already tried the RMA process through ASUS twice but to no avail. Any hints or suggestions as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried putting a single stick of RAM into the 4th slot? If it doesn't work with 1 stick in here then you have a faulty RAM slot. If not then you may be using too much RAM in your system
