Bad Graphics Performance?

Excessive Nerve

Here is a screenshot of NovaBench results for my pc (on the right) and my friends (on the left).

Why is his GPU score so much higher than mine?

The temps are not an issue, my GPU was at 37c CPU was at 22C. What causes me to get a little over half of his score when I have a Asus GTX 980 vs his Asus 780?

CPU.

That i5 stomps that 8 core.

Your CPU probably held you back in the Graphics tests.

Would the cpu seriously add that much a performance impact?

lol do the math, if you add up your score and his score you get those. You beat him in every category except for CPU, his trashes your in CPU.

EDIT: it is literally addition -_-

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

Yes, AMD CPU's are just not good. Hopefully they come out with something new soon, since Intel is just running them over. And yes, the CPU will impact performance that much.

That's not supposed to do that....

Yes. AMD's CPU's are kind of terrible. Intel will crush AMD in pure CPU performance. There is simply no competition

I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

re-test with both on the same os and the same driver.. There is something funky going on unless nova's GPU test is very reliant on single core cpu performance.

Also.. try a different benchmark.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

I tried the Unigine Heaven benchmark and got the same scores as people with similar specs. I think the novabench mark test is very reliant a lot on the cpu. Thanks for all the help everyone!

It could also be caused by the pci-e 2.0

AMD CPUs bottleneck anything above a 270x/GTX 960.

not true but off topic...
